Can someone expound on this please?

Monty they announced last night that they can not rent the fair grounds to hold auctions in Cememt any longer. I dont know much of the details other than what was announced by the auctioneer. He did tell me after the sale they were looking into other places, so that is all I can pass on. Surely some of the others on here know more than I.

Nobody ever got "The Plague" from a snake.

No one got the plague from rodents eithe! It was from the fleas on the rodents! I just learned that as I was reading up on raiseing rats!lol

Hey Teach ,I thought maybe a chucabara had gotten you! Have you raised any birds this year?

Well with that being said, I am as good of shot as anyone I know (no brag just fact

) but even at that, I dont think I can hit fleas from any distance.

Had to share this picture of a mockingbird baby. Found the nest in a tree in our backyard. This pic was taken on Thursday. It was SO HOT. I feel so sorry for those poor babies. Two babies in this heat!

True enough, but snakes don't have fleas, and then there is Haunta virus from rodents, not the fleas!

Here's one I know the answer to!! Marshmallows work great. You'll still catch an occassional curious cat, and we caught a fox once with marshmallows too... but we've caught LOTS of coons with marshmallows!! Good luck!

I have found more poisonous snakes on my property than not. Where I live we are "Plague d" with rattlesnakes. Im killing all the snakes I find.

I honestly wouldn't go around shooting random snakes, but I don't want DH to feel be wasted all that $$$ on my new shotgun. This was the first snake he has been able to shoot. He is normally not home when we find snakes, so he feels like he misses out. The snakes scare the kids, birds, and the dogs. Well I don't know if they scare the dog, but he sure won't let up when he finds one. I am always scared I might shoot him when I am aiming at a snake, since he keeps jumping at the snakes usually. Once I kill them he has no interest in them. He doesn't even sniff them. I figure if it makes the kids feel better we will keep shooting them. Plus we only live 10 miles or so from the rattlesnake fest. Hopefully I never find a rattler!

Can't find any pics of a racer like this one, but I will take your word for it teach. Seen blue racers out here, but this is the first snake I have ran across of this type. He was a skinny snake, nothing like those big bull snakes that I find with 5 or 6 eggs in there belly.

Been hatching guineas out since yesterday, haven't counted yet, but saw 2 royal purple, a coral blue & a buff dundotte. I love all the pretty colors.

Cooked up the eggs I bought at auction, put them in the freezer after they were good & cold gave them to the birds. They were all very happy with there afternoon snack.

WEll Michele at leats the poor little bird is dressed for the hot!lol

Gosh Kass,I can't believe a person who like s roaches is so down on rodents!lol Guess we are going to have to get you a start of g. pigs or rats or mice so you can see how neat they are!lolAnd just thin k opf all the neat pics you could take of the little creatures!

Wow ,didn't mean to kill the thread!
About time for Michael to check in and let us know the news from his part of the country.
We had a few sprinkles today but that was it. It will be in the low seventies in the morning so I guess I will try and get some more weeds out of the flower beds. Think I will pull up most of the tomatoes too, there aren't any new fruits setting on.
