***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Ok...I got the LA200. As far as dosage, how exact does it have to be? The modern games are young, and just starting to get their birchen color on the females. I have tuberculin syringes that I can get the dosage pretty small, but some are no bigger bodywise, than a little swallow. The cockerel is the size of a small grackle and looks like one, too! The Cornish are all around 1-2 pounds, so they won't be hard to figure.

Do I inject in the breast or thigh? I'm assuming. I go to the opposite side of the crop, if it's breast injection? Also, should I treat my other birds just to be sure? I'm going to cull the sickly ones. One is a puffy MG pullet and a Cornish that coughed today. Still no crusty eyes and no diarrhea. I'm taking that as a good sign?

On the bottle it has a dosage for swine at 0.5 cc for 10 pounds. I think I'll do 0.125 to 0.15 for the Cornish. For the MG, maybe 0.05??

Help!

Thanks y'all!

Shelly

that is one very considerable loss to your program Bo, I hope you can recover from it. have you been able to retain the birds you needed for your brown Red and brown projects?

I have her brother and sister but they are not quite as good as she was, also have her mother. Black birds in 100+ temps just don't do well especially when they are big, fluffy large cochins. It is cooler today and the birds are OK but we have about two more weeks of possible 100 degree weather before we can expect a break. I do have all the makings for the brown and brown red projects and actually have several really young chicks hatched from those breedings. Not gonna give up, 40 years of breeding and raising birds, it's in my blood.

Small 1/4 CC for the moderns would be fine, and 3/8 CC for the cornish....left side of the breast, get just barely into the meat, if injected just under the skin it can seep back out before absorbed into the body.

Glad you finally got her Robin, She scuffed her bill on the cage I had her in first so had to move her to one that she wouldn't hurt herself on, She has a quiet, dainty disposition untill you pick her up LOL
