Small 1/4 CC for the moderns would be fine, and 3/8 CC for the cornish....left side of the breast, get just barely into the meat, if injected just under the skin it can seep back out before absorbed into the body.

I gave my 2lb Delaware pullet .05 CC every other day for 5days. Grand total of 3 shots. All the hens I have done this on have been fine. Hope all goes well.

Not too bad, busier than I want to be but still able to enjoy a few things in life.

I hae been to Mary's twice now. DH usually finds more than I do. It does amaze me how people bring chickens, goats, and all other sorts of animals! We might stop by there, will depend on how early we roll out of bed.

The beds are in full sun. They are 12 inch high beds and the plants are buried about 6 inches deep. The newest bed is four years old. Started crowns in trenches in the bed. As they grew we covered them with an inch or so of compost until they reached the level of the bed. With crowns, you can pick spears larger than the diameter of a pencil the second year.
We leave the tops on the bed in the fall for a mulch. In early March, we clear off the tops and leave stalks about 5 inches....you don't want to pull these off or you damage the crowns. These will come out easily later as you weed the beds. When spears start appearing depends on the Spring weathr...we have picked as early as April and as late as May 1. I always add about 2 inches of compost each spring too. The older bed can be picked about 6 weeks and the younger bed about 4 weeks. I have soaker hoses laid in each bed and run it about an hours 2 times a week for an hour.

My rhubarb kicked the bucket this summer with the heat. I planted a green stalked variety because it was more heat tolerant. It's been surviving for 6 years. It was in a raised bed shaded by my grape vine and the grape arbor. I'll plant again..probably try a red stalk also.
