***OKIES in the BYC III ***

thanks wayne- i managed to make them a huge run, but my building skills leave alot to be desired! i keep seeing weak areas that might cause a problem- but they seem to enjoy the run and i spend lots of time watching them play from the studio...

We have at least 20 bucks & bucklings available now ... and we're close to Newcastle.

What do they weigh? and how badly would you like to get rid of them? Are they big or small?

I'd guess the youngsters are at least 30 pounds each, and the bucks are around 100 pounds or more. They're grain and alfalfa fed now too, since we've run out of brush for them to eat. http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/grd/2578574509.html

I understand are you real firm on your price? I am just interested in freezer fillers.

you are not alone they are insperational and medicinal.. I think I spend more time with the birds than people these days. You know its a real problem when you start clucking to yourself though..

Just wondering what everyone gives their chickens for a treat? When mine come running up to see me, I'd like to have a little special something to give them since they seem to think they deserve it.

At the dollar store, for $3, you can buy a box of ol'roy dog food. It is small, thin pieces, like a worm, there are either six or eight pouches in it. Great treats, birds go nuts over them, and used sparingly are good for the birds as well. A lot of show folks use them to get their birds tamed down.

fresh fruit works well, and if the birds don't come running it makes a refreshing treat for you..

You have a point there....although, this stuff will last a lil longer than fruit

I don't know my dogs don't eat fruit, and it lasts a long time around here that is until it hits my hand or the kids. But a apple, a pocket knife, and a bird it could take hours letting them nipple a slice while you eat the rest of teh apple.. See its a win win..
