How neat that you all are getting a white Christmas! All we are supposed to get is a bunch of rain. I hate rain! Hope everyone stays safe and warm during their Holiday travels. Don't forget the extra treats for the feathered friends.

I spent this afternoon outside today too. I didn't get a lot done though I got the barrels for the underground rabbit dens placed and so they were all level, but mostly just watched chicken tv.BEAUTIFUL day today!! Made the best of it with outside work and managed to get everything done outside I had been wanting to get done while I was off of work for the holidays!
Plan on going out right before the cold blast hits and putting enough food and water in the coops to last the chickens for a few days in case we get enough snow that I can't get to the coops. Also put the flock blocks inside so they wouldn't ruin in the wet weather. Now to get onto the human preparedness.![]()

Adorable. Jaxom and Little man have a seperate run in the chicken area but wire sides and top to protect them (and future little ones from cats and hawks) anyway they have been sooo thinking they were ready to brave the big bad world, so today since we were going to be right there I let them run w/ the big girls. Well the girls were less then impressed and tried to pick on them (nothing to violent) that Little man is going to be a handful even though he is small, he doesn't know it, he would get right back up in thier face, just before making a run for it!!!that is what is so precious Kass- chicken tv! there is just something so good about watching their adventures! tonite couldn't find one of our girls, Dot, the 'crazy'- she really is crazy- anyway, finally found her in the nestbox in the run.... silly girl, they have nest boxes in the coop...the other day was feeding in the afternoon and lifted thee lid on the bin and out popped a guinea! silly thing - must have been in there in the morning when i fed and didn't see him when i closed it- and spent some time this afternoon crocheting while taming serama babies- the little one in the front decided i was safe, so everyone one else hopped up to check it out... had 6 hatch and only one cocekrel- wish that happened more often

me tooWe're supposed to be traveling on Christmas day to get where we need to go and get home again. Ugh. Guess we'll keep the birds closed up in case we don't make it back home. They won't be happy but not sure what else to do. It's supposed to be too cold to leave them out over night. Hope my greenhouse stuff makes it through. Yikes!![]()
