***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I know a lot of game fowl breeders like to hatch out within a month or to. The majority think diseases are less likely before the summer heat. I like to hatch anytime myself but sense my shop burned I can't hatch like used to. Be carful with those heat lamps, make sure nothing is close and that chicks can't nock the water bottle on the lamp.

I am needing a couple of Isbar pullets to finish out my rare breeds that I am experimenting with this year. I already have an incredibly beautiful colored Isbar rooster I bought from a fellow Okie. If anybody has a couple to sell, please let me know.
On the list of breeds I hope to hatch from this year are, Lavender Orpingtons, Isbars and Cream Legbars. I have a few eggs sitting under a broody hen that are Barred Rock/Naked Neck cross. I will be candeling probably tomorrow to see if any are fertile. Fingers crossed tightly for barred NN's!!

Kass, Nice video...loved the cat wandering thru....good explanation on sprouting.

Spunky, four broodies are on hens and one hen has chicks that hatched the 28th. Eggs are in the incubator due on the 20th

Woo Hoo I just won one of the NYD hatch contests, the one about the most colorful male fowl pic, it was a pic of a pheasant I took this year.

Hi Joe,

I missed the last open show due to clutch problems on the truck. Maybe I can make this one.

I'm not familiar with the rules during judging. Does "judging on a table" mean the birds are carried by the owners to the table where the bird stands (not in a cage) while the judge walks around looking at the birds? Does the judge pick up each bird? What happens if a bird spooks and heads for the rafters?
a table show means you would carry your bird to the table and pose it for the judge the judge wille pic up the birds and closly look at each one then hand the bird back to you. most birds calm doun easaly and will natualy pose on the table but others will take a litlle work the judge will be judging the birds and not the exibiter so if your bird flys off the table but it is a better bird or in better condition than the others it would still win. it seams that a bird or two will take flight at every show lol

there are several pics that where taking at the last show on the the facebook page
