thanks Coral, i know a friend will be sending me some bantam fav eggs in the spring, for now, the little hen has made friends with the silkies so she won't be lonely- faverolles bantams are the only ones i plan on expanding, can't afford to get too many more... And seramas don't count, right??

after the first owl attempt the guineas sleep on the porch, they are smarter than i thought- course it makes it a little noisy at dusk, but at least they are safe.

Joe, are you going to have any english orp eggs? A friend in texas is looking for some

My box of rhodebars was shipped today & I keep rechecking the shipping to see if they make it to OKC tonight or not. It's so hard to imagine chicks in a box all the way from Flordia to here, sure hope they flew out tonight & don't spend 2 whole days in transit. Poor chicks!
I promise to share pics of the new chicks once they arrive.

Hey everyone I just got some hatching eggs in the mail all seem to have the air sacs detached what should I do can they be saved? Never shipped eggs before their chicken btw.

There are reports on BYC that detached airsac eggs can still develop so just set them as normal. Good luck!

Should set them in something with big end up to keep,air sac in semi normal place?

i'll let her know, i gave her your facebook link... she has some chocolate orps and want more of the UK orps

i was told to set them point down, 48 hours, then set them in the bator in egg carton sections, hand turn them no more than 2x's a day for the first 5 days, sometimes that will help them settle

hi i have 1 polish rooster in 1 australorp rooster and have r my hens 2 australorp in 2 naked neck 1 cochin 1 frizzle 2 rhode island red in 1 sebright in a little one i don't know what it is in a yellow chicken i don't know what it is ....so i have 13 chickens:yiipchick :yiipchick
