***OKIES in the BYC III ***

You can start with your county. They will need your address or the property's legal description: section, township, range et al, a driver's license or ID, and a list of what kind of animals you have. You don't have to have a tractor, but it can help. They will mail you your card. You can make copies and I laminate ours. I make a copy for each of us to carry in our wallets.

Thanks for that info. Do you know where I would go to get started? Is it state or county?

You get you Ok tax number papers from the county tax ascessors office and they forward it to the State. I have one but I am considering canceling it since I file a schedule F on my taxes anyways. It seems that it is getting harder to use the tax number on stuff.

Duck eggs are set in the incubator. Got to get the cabinet incubators out of the shed this weekend. Was way excited to see the weather forecast. Would love to take the kids to the zoo, but I know that is more walking than I can physically do yet. Maybe I can use the nice weather to go out & take some pics.
Hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy the weekend!

From that angle and the chest feathers it looks like a red shouldered hawk to me. There is a family of them that nest near the chicken house at my former residence and they never bothered the flock. I got to handle one that was grounded and it was very docile. Took it to wildlife rescue/rehab place.

well, i wish i could have gotten a better shot- none of the guineas were on guard, seems this one is around in the afternoon, so the birds are locked up, they get supervised time out in the morning-

It hard to tell the size from the pic but it looks like a Mississippi Kite, they average around 12" beak to tail and wingspan about 3 ft.
DH says that for the last couple of years wildlife rescue has been inundated with baby ones. Because of the drought the mothers can't feed them and kick them out of the nest.
