***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Donnie, they are all on here rarely. When Monty gets the POOPS situation planned out, they may all be involved in that, as they usually are. If I remember right, Carah and Maddy also came to the NEOCS that Coral organized in Muskogee last summer. I think she's planning another one.
o kool , i bet she is gettin big , kinda quiet around here without teach and the other guys and the quirky sayings lol ... they are a blast

First chick hatched early this AM, it is still alone in the hatcher making a HUGE fuss. Of course Taron is certain if she takes it out & hold it that would solve the issue of loud chirping.
Think we got over an inch of rain, the ducks are so happy to play in the mud. They would pick mud over a clean pool any day.
When the sleet started back up last night I instantly opened up the door, let all 4 dogs in, then discovered they had been out playing with a skunk. I know my dogs have a good sense of smell, so why have they not learned about the nasty smell that comes from a skunk?

Donnie, Teach moved to Texas. Al doesn't visit the Okie forum, but he visits others. Sooner jumps on every now & then. Monty is locked out of BYC (technical issues). MaryBeth also visits some time, but not daily. Mike said he just now is able to get back on BYC but has't had a chance to post.

Donnie thats a lot of chicks what will you do with them all?

Krazykat I will post more pics so you can see them hope Moe is not a roo but if he is what can I do to get my rooster to get along with him?

Congrats on hatching. We have 14 babies and two eggs left in the bator. Our chirped for the first two days without stopping I think. Then last night we put a red light on them and they quit making a fuss. I'm guessing they were cold but I'm not sure. Our ducks are the same way. Mud is WAY cooler than clean anything. And the dogs ... well, if they're like most dogs they'll eat poo so skunk smell must not be that far off for them.

Having a snow and ice day ... sigh. Half of our greenhouse collapsed under it snapping poles in the process. We took off as much snow as we could while it is still snowing and icing but luckily it only collapsed on the empty bed at the north end. My husband decided to leave it so we only had to heat a smaller portion tonight and tomorrow with the really cold temps we're getting. I'm just amazed that it didn't get any of the plants. thank God. Baby turkeys are doing great so far. STill waiting for the last two to hatch. Baby ducks got to swim with our big female duck today in the bathtub. We're trying to introduce them to each other so when they're ready to go out maybe they'll all get along well. Our duck Silver sure enjoyed swimming in the warm water. Bathroom was a bit of a mess after but oh well. Hope everyone is staying warm and getting some moisture.

ducks don't seem to have the integration issues that chickens do, it was a pleasant surprise to discover with five minutes mine were best friends...LOL!

Hatch day is much more exciting when you haven't hatched in 6+ months! Got 3 out so far.
Erin hope you are able to get the greenhouse repaired easily. I haven't done anything this season. I do feel like I am missing out sometimes but I know next season I will be back to enjoying the dirt.
