Hi Everyone,
I am new to chicken collecting (hah!). We have had chickens for almost a year now. I really don't need anymore chickens ( I had 6 a week ago and now I have 20 ) but I was wondering when the next Newcastle auction was going to be held. Is it the 1st Saturday of every month? I went to the Blanchard auction last night (my first auction) and even though I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything and we left early I still ended up with 4 blue Ameracauna chicks and a dog. Anyway I just heard that the Newcastle auction was a good one and wanted to check it out.

Next wk is Newcastle, normally 1st & 3rd Saturday. If you enjoyed last night you will fall in love with Newcastle. Good clean place, you can walk around easily & they sell the lots fast.

Welcome to the thread, just jump in & chat along.

Okie Chicken Train anyone?

I am considering a rd trip to Tulsa for some much need poultry. May even need to see what all Keystone Waterfowl has while I am in that area. Anyone else needing something to go to or from the Tulsa area? No day set yet. I am guessing it would be a wk day. May stay overnight, not sure yet. Happy to help just let me know if you are in need of some chicken help. (keep in mind I will prob drive the mini van or Camry, I HATE the bumpy ride in the truck).

Welcome all new chicken addicts! :D I can truly say that everyone here will help as much as possible with your questions, they have helped me! Just wanted to jump on an catch up. Late night, early mornin, I hate the first day back from spring break. Mama turns into teacher an my daughter can't stand me teaching science while throwing a load of wash in, feeding chickens, cleanin house an lookin like a frizzle!

Does anyone close to Norman have any showgirl pullets? I lost my silkie girl and my emitt is sure lonely. I have chicks I am hatching and willing to trade.

Morning Okies : )

I hope everyone enjoyed the break. Mom's visit was exhausting but wonderful. The drive to Taos was pleasant, and we had lots of time to talk. We saw a gigantic elk on the side of the road near the little NM town of Mora. The drive back home was nerve-wracking as there were sand storms along I-40 followed by heavy rain. The sand storms caused a pileup of semis and cars about sixty miles west of Abilene. People driving east were shunted off onto a farm road to detour away from the wrecks, so I couldn't see how many vehicles were involved. Farther east, heavy rain slowed traffic to about sixty m.p.h., so my journey home took about fourteen hours.

Chickens are cold and cranky this morning. It feels like winter out there. Have a great week, everyone!
