Beautiful pics everyone and welcome any new comers!
Good Morning everyone,
I have a question/concern. I have a lil 5wk old gold laced Cochin. She is growing good like her other 5 flock mates but there's one thing that has me a little concerned. If put the 5 wk olds out twice w the 8 wk olds, no fighting which I'm very happy able but, Angel my lil Cochin won't eat much grass. I've hand fed her 2 pieces of grass on Saturday an she ate that but when she's in the run she will only eat dead grass or just walk around an preen on herself. We've given treats like honey dew melon, while the others go insane with it she just stands back and watches. When we've given blueberries she has grabbed one but if anyone comes around to take it she doesn't fight it she just let's them take it. She's apparently a lover not a fighter? I'm not worried bout her eating feed but I want her eating grass but she just grabs green grass an let's it go like she's not interested. Dh says she has a show bird mentality, that or she's special needs. Have any of you dealt with this sort of thing, or had a special needs bird? Culling is out of the question, she's become my baby. I have stopped holding her since I was thinking that maybe me holding her longer then I should was holding her back from eating the grass or other things. I'm at a lost as what to do, please help. Thank you guys-gals!
lol jcat...you aint kidding, she also posts on theAnyone remember those genetically modified chickens for fly tying that Old Cowboy bought , then I think P&B bought off of him? Someone has hatching eggs listed! I was so excited to see them. Then I looked @ the 2 boxes of eggs that arrived today & I better wait. The ones in the auction are bantam size I think.

Also a BIN dark brahma auction. $40 shipped for 13 eggs.
I am certain it must be the thread I linked is worst thread on BYC, it empties your pocket book then overflows your incubator. So be very careful when you click the link above.
poor guy!Hey guys. Its been awhile since I have been on. Well I feel like a horrible chicken owner. I saw one of my hens picking at my roosters fluff for quite some time yesterday, so this prompts me to check for mites... and sure enough. He's got mites. I suppose I will be giving my first "seven dust bath" tonight. I also picked up 4 other random hens, and checked for mites...but didn't seem to find any on them. I usually sprinkle seven dust all over their coop once a month to kill for mites. In my defense for this rooster, he has no feet, therefore he can not dust bathe like the other chickens. I suppose this can contribute to him catching mites? Should I go ahead and dust bathe all 30 other of my hens as well? I also have noticed this dot in his eye recently. I don't know what it is? Can anyone help me identify what this could be in his eye? He is a rescue roo, so I don't know how old he is and past health issues. I got him from a run down place with horrible owners. I suppose he lost his feet due to frost bite. Here is a pic of his eye. Thanks for any help guys!
