Do y'all vaccinate your chickens?

I already have 6 pullets that I got from Atwoods and I don't know if they were
Vaxed or not. I just ordered 8 more birds and I didn't request that they be vaxed. I am some what undecided as to weather or not I should. I just googled mareks vaccine and it said the vaccine doesn't prevent the spreading of the disease.

I got a bee book in the mail last wk. Backyard BeeKeeper. We are far away from getting bees of our own, but on my to do list. Awesome to hear about the new bill! Also house & senate passed a home bakery bill (waiting to be signed). You will be able to sell up to $20000 of baked goods from home. No fruit or meat in the products I think.

Still waiting on my fat pregnant doe! We had some people over yesterday & they watched her for about an hour, certain she was going to push out some kids. I am going to walk her around the yard some & hope that she has these babies before the cold front comes in.

i hope my has hers before my daughters field trip later this week. it is already cold here so mine is not going to make it before the cold frount.

The only birds of mine that have been vaccinated are the ones from GreenFire Farms, they vaccinate all of them due to lack of resistance. I got a pneumonia & flu shot this yr & still got both. Vaccines are suppose to help build resistance, but not guarantee it.

Taron just checked the hourly forecast & said lucky needs to have her baby before 6 when the bad weather gets here. I am certain Lucky will not need our help, but I still like to watch just in case. Spent the last 3 wks looking at goats rear ends. Think we are all learning their anatomy well.

Please pray for the safe return of my dear friend's 14 year old niece, Charice Beaumont. She disappeared on her way to school this morning, and no one knew until she didn't come home that day. Please follow the search and share with any and all friends and families that may have Utah ties!

Oh, how horrible! I will keep her in my prayers for certain!

Taking a break from the yard/garden work right now. Working on some experiments. (shocking as that might be!!!!! lol lol lol) I have been burying 5 gall buckets all through the chickens yard 3 so far but have planned a couple more, then filling w/ dry grass roots and chicken poop, then covering w/ a laundry basket inverted over it. Going to try and make all you can eat buffets for the girls w/ black soldierfly larva. If it goes according to the grand plan in my head it should be all hands off after they are set, just refilling w/ chicken poop every so often, and it's not like they are ever going to stop making poop! I won't be able to gather and store for the winter, but should grow them during normal BSF season.
