***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Todd - Great looking coops! I'm sure Cathiesue and her mom will love them. The tractor I bought from you continues to impress me. Regardless of the weather, I've always got clean and dry hens, feed, and eggs.

Elwood - Sorry to hear about your computer. I lost one to a lightning strike a few years ago. Please post a link to the site where I can get a ladies hat, the feminine counterpart to your rugged chapeau. I've ordered a sun visor with a cap that zips on or off, very girly, but it would be nice to have something rugged I could wear, especially in bad weather.

Kass - Has the water receded? Were any other vehicles trapped on Main Street?
Yes the water receded early afternoon yesterday, we had the car towed to the house we sucked out all the standing water w/ a shop vac, and have all the doors and trunk open drying out. I haven't filed the claim yet my agent's office wasn't open yesterday, so I'll file the claim tomorrow. I don't know if any others were trapped on main st. but doubt it I think my car sitting underwater broke the "look of just wet road" lol (and I had replaced the traffic cones to block the street ) However many were underwater on the south side of town, many houses flooded requiring water rescue in the wee morning hours, in some areas the cars were completely submerged in thier own driveways.

Will get back on later...we had waterways washed away on several properties and have been busy moving herds. 10 inch rains swelled creeks way over their banks. so far nodaanimal losses.
Will catch up on posts when our internet service is back up and running....sure missing my daily visits here but am hoping everyone is okay.

Broody moms are busy this morning teaching babies to eat grass and weeds. One little guy grabbed a root and ran screaming around the yard. He must have thought he had a bug. When nobody chased him, he stopped, put the root down, kicked it a couple of times, and then went back to the group.

Sir Gawain took his minions on a quest this morning. They disappeared into a stand of weeds I haven't mowed yet. An hour later, they were still there, and two of the leghorns were fast asleep.

In the midst of all the recent storms, chicks have been busy hatching. MIL says there is no truth to the.old woes tale that thunder kills chicks.in the egg...so far two dozen new chicks...CW and Bantam .
Another bat h.is ready ro candle and another set goes in lockdown on Tuesday.
Glad to hear from Elwood and Coral and so many new people.
Sorry for the losses due to weather.

Internet is out in Shawnee area so many can update us.
