***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I've read some people say twice a year and others say only if they look like they are looking ill, so I've been trying to decide. I always prefer to be safe rather than sorry, but I also don't want any overkill.
Everyone has an opinion on worming, and everyone thinks thier way of thinking is about the only way (not ness on this thread but on byc in general). I have witnessed many heated thread disscusions on this topic. There are those who worm every six months no matter what, others only if they appear to "need" it, others who never do. There are people who use medications, others only natural "medications" others natual foods. Really there is no easy answer and no one way fits all circumstance. It is something you really do need to research and form your own care plan about it. There are benefits and drawbacks to each choice.

after doing research the big issue for me is i don't want any more losses from worms, it has happened too often until i learned to use the right wormer. Personally twice a year with safeguard(after a course of wazine),The warning signs i found on a thread here- lethergy, lack of appetite, thin, those are things to look for, dark green poop, in my case i called it a 'fading' away until i finally discovered the problem- the other thing generally recommended is wazine first, then your other wormer ten days later- the wazine will target roundworms, if you use too strong of a wormer it can cause major damage - so the wazine is the first course- then safeguard- my attitude is if it prevents worms to begin with, thats the direction i decided to go... ok, more info than you probably need..:)

dang! so sorry.

I havent had time to be on here in awhile. I miss all the great chicken chat. Unfortunately I am on here to find homes for my flock. I have to put this house on the market, and it will sell easier chicken free. I guess I can start over when I get to move to the country side. I have two Nekid Necks, one black and one buff colored. Both have bowties and are gorgeous. I have two buff's that I think are Orpingtons. They were supposed to be heavies, but I think they might be bantams, because they grew fast and have really slowed down on there growth. I have the prettiest Rhode Island Red Bantam. I have one Old english Game Bantam. Two buff Orpintons. One Polish. They are all free to good homes. They must be picked up in Lawton. We don't have a truck right now. They all seem very healthy to my untrained eye.
