Worked yesterday and Muskogee County sure was restless!

I mix Permethryn with water a little strong, remove the birds from the coop spray the roosts, walls, and bottoms well to soak it down allow it to dry them re-populate the pen. Its a good time to dip the birds as well. it really helps with both mites and the heat. The other nice part about the dip is it helps keep moisture in the feather so there are fewer discolored stress marks.

I will stop at Atwoods this week and pick up what we need. I was going to treat this weekend but with fireworks going it is to busy. So it will be next weekend.

Haven't finished the article yet, but Coral did you notice there is a celiac artery the transverses the thin clear membrane near the "lungs" I would bet that is what we hit on those birds.

on my rooster with thrush, i have been dabbing his throat with acv, well now he is congested- should i treat him for respiratory also?

That would probably be good if you did just know that treating with antibiotics will possibly make the thrush worse. Can you treat birds with Gention Violet or Dyflucan?

I don't have either, dosages.?

Gentian Violet is a purplish liquid used for thrush in human babies and/or nursing moms. It is topical, so just swab the throat like you were doing before. It stains so be careful. You can buy it at any pharmacy.

Diflucan is a prescription antifungal. Don't know that you could get it or what the dose would be unless you went through a vet.
