Good Mornng Okies. Beautiful day outside. we are pulling in the two small herds today to finish tagging and giving shots to the newest calves. Thought I'd post a few pictures too. First, DGibson blessed me with a quad of his lovely Bantam Delawares. The hens lays her eggs in the handing feeder every other day. The little rooster is so attentive to his girls. The two pullets are checking out the nest box too. They come out of quarantine this week. A few of the keeper Columbian cockerels from this year's hatches. The one in front is a Blue Columbian Delilah and Joy with their shared 15 babies. A few of the keeper Columbian Wyandotte pullets from this year's hatches A first time mom.. Birchen Wyandotte with her babies...A few Bantam babies from the Rosecomb and D'Anvers . They are now on the floor of the coop and two other first timers have joined in the raising and protecting. Because her comb flips up at the end, she will be a nice layer, but won't be in the breeding pen this year. She is a great mom....will peck the heck out of your hand ! Tiny Dancer..she is such a sweet bird...talks to me all the time and likes to ride on my shoulder. The best Blue Columbian Wyandotte pullet This is Dottie, and she is now laying an egg every other day. A real singer. Keeping cool...these are keeper Wyandottes and Cochin from this year's hatches.
I like Dottie. And I'd love to see some pics of TinyDancer doing the dancing when you pet her.

I know they don't say peahens for sale but maybe they will sale one or know someone that has one for sale. Corgis are doing good. I don't shave the ones I currently have. They have a large water tub to jump in if they need to cool off. But I think they are just digging holes to get to cool soil right now. Did you see the pic I posted of my fawn one with the ducks? One of ducks chased him a pretty good ways across the yard. My roo sucker punched my tri color corgi and scared the bejeezus out of him. My corgi boys are being great about the chickens, ducks, and 2 new kittens.

Good morning everyone! Hope y'all had a good weekend.
I was wondering if those of you who have bantams have your favorite breeds, and why? Anita (wife) and I got our first chickens in April and they are all bantams. 2 EE, a pair of Welsummers, and 4 Silkies. We aren't restricted with what we can have, but we do live in a neighborhood and don't want to bother the neighbors, so we decided with our limited space we'd stick with bantams. Problem is we're already wanting to get more.......and we haven't even seen an egg yet. LOL! I saw some Black tailed Jap Saturday night and they were pretty, but I really didn't want any. Anyway, we'd like to hear what all of you think and why, and where we might look for other breeds.

Have a great Monday.
