50/50 sounds about right for luck! I know what you mean though. I am watching one of my EE chicks carefully. They were supposed to be sexed but I have one that is suspiciously slow to feather out.

Not 100% sure I'm going to the Labor Day meet-up, but would anyone be interested in these Tolbunt chicks? There are 2 tolbunts and 1 split. I need at least $80 for all of them. They are 3-weeks old, come from Greenfire lines and a NPIP flock. Don't know the sex. As much as I'd like to keep them, I've decided there's not much of a point when I can't have roosters.

NanaKat--it def is hot!!  We are outside today pulling up dead leaves and trying to make room for a newer bigger chicken coop and my new garden.  (We moved to our house in Harrah (from meeker!) about 2 years ago, and just now able to work towards these goals! )

So sorry about your calf!! :(

we have lived in Meeker since 1996 and hubby graduated from Choctaw and lived in Harrah for a number of years. About two years ago we sold his land in Harrah to a young couple from Meeker....small world

Hey all,
I have a sick chicken. She is congested like she has a cold. I have been giving her VetRx and I bought some Tylan 50 injectable today. If I give her the Tylan what dosage do I give. I know this has been discussed before but I though I would ask before digging through the posts. Also she seems a little better since I started giving her the vetrx. Should I even give her the Tylan at all?

I just started with chickens in May with a Rhode Island Red Rooster and 5 hens to match. Lost a hen and the roo the first week of August to updraft of a truck. Then we got a Barred Rock Roo, he isn't as wondering as the other rooster was and stays to the backyard. I bought a small incubator and I am trying hatch 4 eggs now. I ended up addicted. Bought 3 Barred Rock hens today at the poultry swap and may go back tomorrow and buy 3 Black Australorps. I live in far Northeast Oklahoma and lucky enough to have a swap meet every month in the summer the other side of town,

Welcome to nana74331! Sounds like the addiction is really setting in quickly...and there is no known cure. We are going to have to meet someday soon...a lot in common...both called Nana...both spell our name the same way and both addicted to chickens in Oklahoma.
