***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Rebecca! So good to see you posting here. Hope to see you and Doc and Coral and Nana and whoever else goes! The show is actually the second weekend in December. This year it is a one-day show--December 14. They started that last year, and I hope they change it back to two days!

Thank you for the info Betsy. I went back and edited my earlier comment. Sure hope a lot of folks attend. I liked the two day event too.

Hi : )

Well, I don't have any birds yet, though both my husband and I had them growing up. I came to this forum to find other folks interesting in making it legal for us in OKC to keep them. We have less than an acre, but there's still plenty of room for girls and all of our neighbors I have talked to like the sound of chickens.

We have a petition being signed by folks in the neighborhood and hopefully more around town. I know there are lots of folks who keep the birds here. I hear crowing all the time, but I'd love support for making it all legal. I can send you a PDF so you can print your own petition out, or you could come by my house and sign mine.

Looking forward to meeting new folks in our area,

Anemone

I just love baby chick. What breeds are they and where did you order them from? I would like to raise buttercups but I don't know much about the breed. I think they are such pretty chickens but I don't want to deal with chickens with mean dispositions. I've already done that lol

If you ever make it over to Tulsa I'd love to meet up and sign your petition!

I lost my little Serama hen would like to find one to put with my Roo . Also looking for silkie pullets or hens . What are OEGB ? After reading about fermented grain I tried it and can't believe how much my birds like it , I take a five gallon bucket into the pen and they try getting in the bucket while I dip it out .

Eddie, an OEBG (Old english game bantam like she just said) is every bit as small as a Serama, it'd make a great mate for him. Of course unless you were wanting purebred chicks. I adore my little OEGB's. I can't imagine ever not having some. They're talkative and curious and way super friendly. Good luck on the Silkies, they're not the easiest to find this time of year. I've got some getting ready to hatch but It's the girls I'm wanting also.
