***OKIES in the BYC III ***

@Shelbydog, the Chicken Housing Association's official spokeschicken may be knocking on your door soon with a list of demands lodged firmly under her wing.

LOL. I'll let you know when she shows up.

I'm just excited I finally broke those 3 pullets from roosting in the tree.

@Cjarvis. Or other poultry show goers.

I plan on going to the Shawnee show in December. What is the proper etiquette in asking the showers about purchasing from their stock? Do you wait til after ribbons are placed?

I want Favorelles and I'd like to find them in colors other than salmon even though I want salmon too.

Robin, I didn't know you had Blacks, how gorgeous :-)))) How old are they. Did you hatch them?

Shelby, the Chicken Po-Po won't get you. No matter how much room they have they huddle together anyway.

Ask anytime you can find the exhibitors. Your best bet is get a copy of the exhibitor list, look the birds over and mark the exhibitors you are interested in speaking with. They will be easy to find while the judges are judging the row their birds are in just do not be surprised if they speak little while their birds are being judged.

I prefer standard but will take bantam if that's all I can find in non-salmon variety. Are you wanting to sell those or upcoming offspring?

That is so true even in the summer.

Oh I know...look at all that empty roost space. If I see roost space I think I have room for more. I actually got 4 new marans hens in a dog kennel right now and they are big girls so I don't think they are going to fit.

But I like seeing which ones buddy up with each other.

Wow! What varieties are you showing in Atoka and Shawnee? When and where are Nationals this year?

Kass, sorry to hear about your hatch. That has got to be frustrating. Do you have a chance to get more of the Hoodans (sp).

Ksane ...cute chicks.
Shawnee will likely be Columbian, Brown red, Birchen and Silver Blue. Same for Atoka this weekend. OE nationals this year will be in Knoxville Tn. The Birchen Rosecomb will be a next year bird, I finally fixed the head, comb, and earlobe issues on a few so am well set for some good ones to show next year, then to start on Silver Blue Rosecomb so if you get a splash pullet or two please let me know.
