Welcome!Hey, just thought I would introduce myself. I am from eastern Oklahoma, Panama, for those of you familiar with the area. I have six white rocks in my custom(read as "redneck engineered) chicken tractor. They are producing 4-6 eggs a day for me. Just got the fencing up to allow them access to the back yard. Long ago my poultry judging team won state and we place 14th I think at national FFA con. Thanks in advance for any help you guys offer up!
She is too light for a true Mille Fleur hen but she has nice spots - the latest in fashion; she looks like leopard print on he back.awe what a sweet face

Freezer camp I have heard cures 100% of rough roos... hehehe!!!!Random. I have four hens and one roo (borrowing roo from the neighbor to just be a look out while they are free ranging and he does a poor job at that). He repeatedly mounts my sex link hen and she is SO upset that she is squaking and today she layed there afterward (I thought she was dead!) so I picked her up (she NEVER lets me do that!) and I put her next to the coop, and she never came back out. Each time he started to come near her she RAN into the inclosed part of the coop squaking so I stood between him and her and he backed off. She stayed in the inclosed part for the rest of the evening. It's so sad because she is constantly running away from him. She is molting bad but he is making her loose so much more on her back and really bad on her rear. I am getting so fed up with his picking on her that I am ready to give him back to the neighbor but the neighbor got him two times already. Each time the desperate little guy just kept coming back. I would find him sitting there next to the coop waiting for them to come out. I'm thinking he needs to go back but now he wont stay there. I think my ladies would be a little happier (especially my sex link... poor girl) if he were gone. At least for now he can be a heat source for them while our temps lower the next few nights. They do tend to huddle next to him so I guess he's not all bad. Sorry. I had to get that off my chest. I am just frustrated with that rooster.![]()
No you just put them in the yard and tell the people they are the newest thing in robotic yard art...I even resisted Atwoods! I got older hens that I don't have to brood. Chickens in the closet while trying to sell a house is a no no. LOL
Bacardi, Seagram, Tequila are all good "ice bar" names... hehehe!Dorcus II... I'm torn on that. I want to, but I cried like a little girl when Dorcus I died.
And I'm thinking the Isbar (pronounced Ice Bar) might get named Zima. It just seems appropriate.
No that is just prudent planning. Anyway they are not chickens if they are not laying or they crow. That is chicken math...I definitely won't be able to keep but one or two. I actually have 6 more eggs in the incubator from a different breeder cause I didn't think these would make it due to the PO being so rough with them.. chicken math!
