***OKIES in the BYC III ***

and a couple more

Oreo's girl the tiniest of the lot

Tric, he is a capon

And of course, one of the "twins" Oreo's boys. One is full capon the other is a slip, I marked the leg of the slip side, but it has come off, not sure yet what I am going to do about that.

There were a couple that I didn't get good shots of today.

Drum roll please .............................................................

Here it is at last, Gallifrey block

It has some errors, but I didn't have it in me to rip one more stitch let alone a whole seam!!!!!!!

And the guilty returing to the scene of the crime!
Very Nice Kassaundra!!!! Yeah You!!!

Make a wall quilt out of your favorite blocks and run the quotes as a border....
I like that idea!

Kass, here is one for you- a crochet tardis ornament...

That would work good as a day pen cover to keep any hawks from your chickens. I wish I could cover my whole yard with some.
I'd still lock them away at night though. A coon could climb to the top and tare through it to get in.

(Been there - done that).

I use chicken wire on the top of my yard. It is a bit more expensive and needs supports but has worked great!

A few pics from the flock today

Jackie O, the only actual survivor of the attack (the others were fenced separately that is why they were safe) but she was out and the only one w/ sense to get high and stay high.
Okay so I know you love these birds and bless you for being able to but .....

Whoa! He's beautiful, Kass! His brother looks like this, too?? Just leave the slip, don't risk cutting into either again. I put the Bantam Fav boy back in with his girls (my husband felt sorry for him-jeez). I took the 3 Delaware girls out (yours looks like a Delaware sort of) but they're getting picked on where they're at. I can't have that because i really like them. So I'll give it some thought and make a pen or yard for the twin boys and the 3 Delaware girls. So it won't matter that one's a slip. They should get along fine given one is caponized. Robin, I've got 21 Silkies and Sizzles in the incubator due to hatch in a week lol. I had no idea almost every one of these shipped eggs would grow :-0 So Bardies is taking all the extras as it is. I think I'm full up with Silkies now after the hatchery ones and my 2 hatches :)

Thanks everyone. I have decided to make the blocks that really speak to me in the collection and then over size them, choose a special quote to pair w/ the block and make a set of framed art instead of a quilt. If I made them into a whole quilt I would never put the quilt on the bed b/c I wouldn't want anything to happen to it, so I would never get to see and enjoy it, but as framed art I will get to see them everyday.
nice idea!

Yes, both look almost identical, one is just a bit smaller then the other. Sounds like a plan I won't recaponize him.

I think I want a hen for my layer group - they are hearty birds, (and adorable chicks). Jack shares your opinion. He even thinks my Showgirl is ugly.

I think of all the chickens in chickendom, they are a "litmus" chicken, either you love or hate them, no middle ground.

I'm kind of on the fence i like the show girls and Kass crested ones (like jackie O) but some of the others are not my cup of tea.

I love the look, but even more then that the utility. Hearty through our summers, fewer feathers on process day and no hair to singe.
