I totally forgot I'd bought the bird and didn't take it home from the auction. I only paid $5.00 for it, and was way too worried about the chicks I bought and how cold it was. Oops?

Just wondering , is almost everyone on this thread from around the Tulsa area ? I live in Newcastle most of the things I read everyone is a ways from me. I was also wondering if every feed companies layer pellets or crumbles have a lot of fines in it? Almost like dust.

Robin, the toe is dead nothing can be done. It does need to be allowed to fall off on it's own though, and as best as you can needs to be kept dry. I have a confession to make, I was secretly on the girl front about Sonny, until your last round of pics, my what a difference a week makes.

Hi, I am from Auckland in New Zealand. I have one gorgeous Blue Orpington rooster (Frank), 3 Plymouth Barred Rock girls (Milly, Penny and Lucy) and 3 beautiful orpingtons, 2 splash (Gertrude and Chick Chick) and a blue named Belle. My chickens are my delight and there is nothing in this world like fresh free range eggs. I also have a shih tzu (Molly) who follows the chickens around and also six sheep.

his cage has a towel with a sheet on top, and part of the day he is on the bed covered with a sheet so i can keep a close eye, i am spraying his feet with vetrycin as he began fighting me on the neosporin- this will be the 4th nail, this one seems to be bothering him more- i really thought he was a she too- but watching him recover i think he was anemic and under fed so didn't develop right
