***OKIES in the BYC III ***

@hotcurltr I know exactly what you mean, because I do it all the time. I go to respond to somebody's fairly innocuous post and end up ranting about somebody else's awful behavior. I swear, if I woke up with mutant powers some day, I would use them to go into the houses of animal abusers and tie them up and let them starve. Not really... but... yeah, maybe.

And I would happily wear some sort of BYC insignia! Maybe carry a flag, or a bullhorn...

I've been wondering how I would locate one of the "enablers" from a group

but x2 on what u said. Thanks for making me feel better. I just hate hurting someone.
I just heard the most spine chilling call of some animal. The dogs were upset so I let them out to go see. All the geese were squaking and looking. I called my pyranees in but she refuses and is laying out in the snow looking. My donkey is white so it took me a while to locate him as I scanned the pastue. Whatever it was, isn't comong here, because everything has calmed down. Angel(my pyr mix still won't come in though. Guess she's waiting. One thing I've noticed with her breed is that they are protective, but very hard headed. And since she's getting old I don't want her tangling with anything by herself , although Elvis the donkey, would jump in.

Diana, what kind of animal call....a scream...like a big cat? Hope it stays far, far away.

Taking a break from working on the taxes...thought Id post a few pictures.

Looked out the window the other day to see this....a tail sticking up out of the brick carport planter wall....

Dottie decided she would become an excavator...

and her look when I caught her.. .Me? What am I doing? Why I'm digging a nest!
Found an egg in there yesterday morning.

And then today....chickens out freeranging start running when I come out and then follow me into their pen for a little scratch.

(<--- Me clapping like a seal)

True my youngest crower was a 4 week old cream legbar boy! So it can happen!
4 wks old! How cute! The first time I heard him it took me by surprise and I thought maybe something was wrong. He did it a second time and I realized what he was doing. Sounds so funny!

AUCTIONS: Someone asked... Check out Crozier auctions on facebook. P&S poultry and rabbit auction is the second sat of every month I believe. Don't know of any shows. I want to go to POOPS when it is up and running. Try this: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/363390/the-new-oklahoma-auction-swap-list

So cute!! What breed/s do you have there? They are so pretty! I love all the fluffy butts in the air!

I have a question for the English teachers in our group. We are watching a documentary on TV the narrator said "A team is ......" my question is since the word "team" is singular, but, it is meaning a group so plural, is the correct verb "is" or "are" (singular or plural)???? Gary is sitting here shaking his head at me, saying he doesn't know any one else who would wonder about this.

Not a teacher, but if team is used in the collective form, "is" would be correct. If it's used to denote a collection of individuals, but the individuals are the object in question, "are" is correct.

The team is moving out.

The team are all cold.

Again, correct me if I'm wrong!

It actually depends on whether the whole team is doing the same thing or if they are doing different things. I.e.

Every afternoon the baseball team follows its coach out to the hot field for practice.

Team = singular; follows = a singular verb; its = a singular pronoun. All members of the team arrive at the same place at the same time.

Vs

After the three-hour practice under the brutal sun, the team shower, change into their street clothes, and head to their air-conditioned homes.

Team = plural; shower, change, head = plural verbs; their = a plural pronoun. The teammates are dressing into their individual outfits and leaving in different directions for their individual homes.

Is your "excavator" a Sussex or Light Brahma, I can't see her feet?
