Great outcome! She hasn't had her calf yet...more swelling and some discharge so the boys took her to the vet who is keeping her overnight. He was able to push back the prolapse and check the calf and her milk flow. He will give her a shot this afternoon to start her labor. Should have calf Sat morning.Understand the being able to sleep....But tell you what - was glad that THIS time I had cried wolf. Not totally convinced that they had fully bonded...but a day or so in the same pen with no other nosy cows around couldn't have hurt. Today, I watched her give baby a bath. Totally worth it!Our day started with a prolapsed cow...before delivery! Had to bring the entire herd up from the back in order to get her from the back pasture. She and another cow that is a first-timer are settled in the lot by the barn.How is your prolapse/her calf doing?
