You do not suck at chicken raising. I am sorry for your losses.
I have felt that way before, especially last Summer when I lost so many chicks. I am making up for it this year.
yep i think we have all been there--- you aren't a bad chicken mama, but things happen, and you can't protect them totally -
Soooo.....In January Kelly, Coral, and I drove out to BFE to get me some black langshan pullets. The lady had black cochins too....guess what I grabbed? A black cochin cockeral. He's matured enough for me to figure out what he is this week.
Another addiction....
IDK....He was not an intentional purchase. I'm not sure what I want to do with him.
Maybe you can swap him for what you paid for. It's work asking. Still have her number?

spent today on the serama set up, and tried yesterday to reintroduce Leah and the girls to the flock, she was fine until one or two of the hens started picking fights, i finally gave up after they were ganging up on her and had her hiding with the kids-so i'll just keep them separate for now
