***OKIES in the BYC III ***

My mom is wanting a flock of guineas. Does anybody in the Tulsa area have keets, or maybe a laying pair or trio? I'd really like the lavender ones, but guineas are guineas. I'll probably be looking for them at the Coweta auction tomorrow, if nobody here has them.

How is the Coweta auction? I was wanting to go but i haven't seen any reviews of it!
Also what time does it occur? Thank you.

In the event anyone is interested in a few OEGB or Rosecomb chicks I have some ranging from 1-3 weeks that hatched the wrong color for what I am wanting to keep. The combinations can include Black Tailed Buff, Buff Columbian, Silver quill and red quill They will make for nice birds just not something I am going to raise out.

There used to be a guy in Purcell named Marc Sacre that I understand had really nice orpingtons. Don't know if he is still doing this, but worth looking into. I think I was able to find him by googling the name.

I believe it starts at 2:00 on Saturdays now, and it's pretty darned big. It was Friday nights, but it was going until the wee hours of the morning to get through all the stock. It doesn't help that they sell all that total crap at the beginning of it that doesn't have anything to do with chickens, but once they get to the chickens there's a ton of stock. Of course, like anything, when you buy it from an auction you can get a good deal or a bad deal. I paid a pretty penny for English Orpington eggs and I'm pretty sure I got a mixed bag of chicken types. Most of them may be English Orps, but there's a couple in there that may not be. And it's always a toss-up on how many eggs are going to be fertile from the auction. But that's the chances you take when you're looking for a bargain. I've gotten some chickens from there that I love, and some that made me sad. The BEST part of the Coweta auction is that there's several BYC'ers that go, so you get to meet us!

I believe Mark Sacre sold his Orp inventory. Those birds are now Heirloom Orpingtons, and they're in Tennessee. :(

Quote: Alright! Thanks for telling me about the not-chicken related selling, that's definitely helpful.
"A ton of stock." I love looking at all the types of chickens, it's very exciting to me!
Sorry about your eggs, I'm hoping you get pretty chicks from them.
I'd love to meet some fellow BYC'ers, but i'm pretty darn young. (in the teens, eek)
My grandfather has me searching around for all the chicken related things..he's not computer capable!
