Those poppies are gorgeous! My grandma had them all down her driveway when I was liottle. I haven't seen any in years. It makes me smile!

Question.... is it reasonable to think that a flighty breed might fly into something and break its neck if scared? I found one of my Minorca pullets laying against the front door of the coop this morning, no sickness, nothing I could see, but I would swear her neck is broken.

Kass, for your photos you should try orange or tangerine jelly or jam. I wouldn't go with marmalade, because it's not as clear. Do jelly if you want it really clear. I think sunlight through orange preserves looks like everything that embodies the words "happy morning", and next to something green and leafy it sings happiness and health.

You'll do it a lot better than I did.

LOL, that's a lot of work to be addictive! lol I don't eat them much, not being able to eat bread products limits the occasions for jam.

Monday morning I watched my exchequer leghorn rooster mounting the hens and crowing his heart out. The storms moved through and they were bad, that afternoon I found him dead under the coop. All I can figure is that the storm scared him and he jumped and broke his neck hitting the bottom of the coop hard. :-(

One of my geese developed angel wing, a condition where the wing tip flops forward instead of tucking up under the elbow. I got help on the Toulouse thread. They advised me to wrap the tip in place and keep it immobile for about a week. I'll check it in five days to see if there is any change.

It sucks, right? I wasn't emotionally attached to this bird, but it still sucks. She was such a pretty thing, but she never got over the scary hand. We had such loud thunder last night, I just know the silly bint did it to herself.
