***OKIES in the BYC III ***

The co - broodies hatch is done, 10 eggs become 7 chicks. The last one is drying now, A spunky little bunch. Both are doing the chick call and all chicks are responding to both moms.

@bardies, your beautiful Porcelain cockerel got delivered to @Adorkable safe and sound. She's so very nice and he's going to have a great home!
And I picked up a box full of blue & Splash Ameraucanas from MJ's neighbor, Jack. They're gorgeous with nice fluffy beards and I love them :D I ended up with extras so (enabler than I am) I shared with Adorkable/Jess. What kind of person would I be if I sent someone home and didn't share chicks with them???
Jack's got especially nice and especially healthy Ameraucanas. And my favorite colors, too!

And of course some of my Brahma girls, just cuz I like em' so well. They're photo bombers so I always have lots of pictures of them. I still have all 4 that Carl hatched for me from shipped eggs 2 1/2 yrs ago.

they are beautiful!
Do you sell their babies? How do they do with the heat?

They do a lot better in the heat than my Cochins. I didn't have a Dark Brahma male until a few months ago. I tried caponizing all 3 of the young Brahma boys I have but stupidly used the wrong tool so all 3 will be crowing and breeding in a few months :) I'd love to have more Dark Brahma chicks. I have a 7 month old Gold Laced Brahma boy also, he's really pretty. Well....he will be when he grows into himself :D

glad it all went well! And loving those chicks!!! You always find the good ones!

Robin here is Maverick's son. The boys call him my booby bird because he likes to cuddle up between them lol. I am having a terrible time deciding between keeping him or keeping one of the cockerels from the ones I ordered from Ideal. Of course the hatchery ones will not be related to my hen or the daughter I want to keep but a booby bird is hard to beat. Plus I say "come here come here come here so I can catch you" and he does lol

Oh my gosh thank you so much... he's such a gentleman. I made a small fenced area next to the silkie tractor and he has been courting one of my girls the entire time. She goes in and out of the house teasing him lol. The other girl is in the nestbox sitting on golfballs. That makes 3 broody hens at the moment plus 1 that has 2 week old chicks.

He has been following her up and down the run lol.

Waiting for her to come back outside... he's adorable.

My husband laughed at me... you go out to pick up a rooster and come home with 6 chickens. Good thing he likes chickens as much as I do

I just fed them so of course they want to eat shavings!

They are super healthy, very active and absolutely gorgeous. They are right next to another brooder with 4 sussex. I thought they were the same age, but the sussex are about a week or 2 older and way too feisty for these sweeties.

Thank you so much for sharing these cuties with me! Who could say no to this?

My little bantam hen looks just like him!
