***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Please tell me they only poop on the ones they love.

I was holding my NN chick and my silkie trying to bond and they both pooped on me. Totally gross I am going to take a shower.

Coral how old is the NN chick I got from you at poops? It was in the straight run cage.

BetsyOk how old is my darling silkie?

has anyone heard that ivomec paste works for mites as well as worms? thought it was only wormer??

I don't trust Ivomec for mites anymore although I know it works great on sarcoptic mange mites in dogs (given orally). So it makes sense that the ivomec paste would work on certain mites in birds. I may have just ran into a lice or mite species that Ivomec didn't work on.

I've read that it's the northern fowl mite that it doesn't work on. It also doesn't work on biting lice, only the sucking lice

So any guesses on what color my little partridge from @bardies will turn out? Ive never seen such a black partridge, Im loving her! Her names Seka, and she's much too busy for me and my camera.

She's almost all black, which I love, just wondering if she will get more of the orange color Ive seen in partridges?

Thank you everyone for your comforting comments about Beau. It is hard for me to imagine me getting so attached to a chicken...but one with a personality like Beau simply won me over. The yard isn't the same without him.
I looked over the few cockerels from his limited breeding this year and there is one that seems to stand out. So I will let him grow out more to see how he turns out.
Hatch numbers have been really low this year in the Columbian pen. I used two of his sons in the breed pen this year and hopefully there will be a grandson to consider as a keeper.
