***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Frustrating day, all itchy and swollen from poison ivy, I decided not to do any outside work and work on some mending / altering I have been putting off. A little 20 minute project escalated to 3 hours, 2 times having to take apart the sewing machine to try and figure out what it was screwing up on. Finally got it all finished and .................................... it doesn't fit!!!!!!
Murphy's Law
Lost Timmy overnite, from what i read, secondary infections are what are the issue with chigger infestations- such a sweet boy. Lost one of the keets and another isn't looking good, giving them crumble broth about every half hour- looks like a hard week dang it
So sorry to hear this. Hope the chick recovers.
I am trying to ID some weeds, bushes, vines, and trees to see what I have for the new rabbits for wild forage. Anyone know what these are. Weed one, you can see the sap is milky, this stuff is everywhere. Weed 2 This weed also has milky sap, long tap root Weed 3, this one gets huge, clear sap I believe they call it chick weed. Amish make a salve out of it. This is ragweed Weed 4, is this plantain that has gone to seed? This is locally called pigweed Weed 5, airy foliage and flowers Almost like babies breath but not woody. This is a sticktight...has a tiny seed with burrs. tree 1 This one is a tree, they pop up everywhere Texas Boxwood. Tree 2, or maybe big bush hard to tell, is it elderberry? It kinda reminds me of my Gma's elderberry, when it was blooming very fragrent Definitely this is elderberry. The berries make a great jelly or wine. I have recipes for both. Evil vine 1, hate this crap, big hateful thorns grows like crazy, leaves are a bit thicker then normal. Green Briar. Non poisonous but a real pain. Only removal method is digging it up. Birds spread the seeds. Our cows will not eat this...and is is very invasive Green Briar or bramble. Weed 6, everywhere This is iron weed. It can grow up to six feet tall and has a straight trunk. They will be eternally grateful for the ID's
ID'd some but they're all indigenous to OK. We've all got them and don't see wild bunnies dropping over because of them.

I got home from work, opened the door, and a little voice whispered in my mind... Robin lost Timmy, and Van Helsing took flight with him. I went straight through the house to his tub and there he was, head tucked up in the most peaceful sleep any of us will ever know.

I'm going to go pour myself a glass of wine and drink a drink to the most beautiful roo I've ever known.

Make it a big one...sorry about Van Helsing.

The guinea babies made it through the nite - two are still weak and wobbly- rooting for them- mama was waiting in the pen this morning, so i gave her the two stronger ones, she immediately began cooing at them and tucked them under her, and settled right down- guineas are so confusing- but i hope the others get stronger and i can put them with her too
