***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Okay, all, I have been trying to figure out just exactly how I can keep and house all the chickens I've been accumulating. I've decided I can't. Before I put it up on Craig's List, I thought I'd offer them up here...
I have one of Rinda's Cream Legbar roos, just about 12 weeks old. $20 (no crest)
I have two Old Path Farms Jubilee Orpington roos, about 13 weeks old. $25 each.

I have 2 bantam roos. One is a Gold Seabright. I don't know what the other is, but he is a friendly little thing. They were free to me. They'll be free to you.

I also have two EE roos. One is 30 weeks old, one is 19 weeks old. I am uncertain about those. Freezer camp is a possibility, but are they good for that? On that note, at what age should you cull them anyway? My Marans are 19 weeks old, starting to crow, but they don't feel very meaty just yet.

I'll post pics if anyone is interested. I am open to trade for the right chicks or hatching eggs.
don't feel bad, i had to do that recently too, only problem i found downsizing is wondering how the rehomed are doing, i'm lucky most of them are at corals and dusti's!

now i am only allowing myself a few seramas to be added...don't need coops and runs

The little kitten the dog and cat brought home
what a sweetheart!

Robin,

Priscilla and her family are doing great!! They are free ranging with the flick everyday. I need them to go to bed with the flick so I can move the tractor and put some chicks in to grow out.

Any ideas on this tree or woody bush
Mulberry??? That reminds me tho, my husband informed me that elderberry trees are native to the area. 2nd plant looks like a holly of some kind to me but Im not expert. And those NN roosters are gorgeous. LOVE those waddles. I will need one some day. Preferably one like the rockstar I think shelbydog got. :) @NanaKat Glad to know you take breaks! I think you get more done in a month than I do all year :) I just gave my friend all my ameraucana/Easter egger chicks. :( a little sad about it but she lost almost her entire flock to a wild dog (that has since been killed because it came after her) I liked the chicks but I really wasn't spending much time with them and I've decided my SFH will go where I was going to put the EEs. So that settles it. No blue eggs for us :( but her kiddos are happy and the chicks will get lots more socialization than I was providing

Your capons are on bug patrol and blend in as if they've been here forever. I haven't had a lot of time to work on the cross-beak hen, but I do pick her up every time I go into the pen. She's no longer skittish and doesn't mind being held. One of the broody hens quit sitting, so she's in the layer pen being bossy. The other broody is still sitting, and I'm probably going to take her eggs and give her chicks on Sunday or Monday, when my next batch hatches. I don't think any of her eggs will hatch. She's way overdue. It was 95 in the shade when these pictures were taken, so all the hens are panting. Most of the hens stood in dog dishes filled with water after our photo session.

See that bossy attitude: My food. Mine, mine, mine.

Hey @artsyrobin ! The boys are doing great, too! I've had their coop frame done for wks but still have to side it. Their coop for now is a 4x2 rabbit hutch, it's got airflow all the way around so it's cool for them even locked up at night. They do have an 8x8 pen though :)

This is another of my rooster buddies who helps me in the yard, one of my husband's favorites."Ralphie" from The Honeymooners. I got him from Charley here on the Okie board. Ralphie was wearing the feathers off his 2 girls so they went to the layers yard and Ralphie shares the back yard with 4 other roosters (it's fenced). At night he goes into his doghouse by the deck to sleep.

A few of the Light Brahmas girls I got from @YardBirdMom, they're very sweet!

And "Cheeks" the Brahma/Orloff/Faverolles mix. The only chick hatched here that I've managed to successfully caponize. So Cheekie's a special boy.

And the Brabanter hen I got from Coral many moons ago. She molts like 3 times a year, what's up with that? lol One of my Bantam Cornish does the same thing. They're both healthy, they just seem to always be mid-molt.

Oh no!!!!! My very pregnant boxer just ran up to me bleeding. When I got her calmed down I could see one of her nipples was almost cut off. I got the bleeding stopped and cleaned up. Looks like just through the skin

Oh I hope it is mulberry, that would be awesome!

the first one is some kind of oak yes the second one is an elm, Sand plums have some short point limbs sometimes but not really thorns.
how cute

I wondered if it was an oak of some kind.

Well then I need to take a few more pics and post them. I know bo'dark (I know not how you spell) has thones, but I do not think these are that. (I did not post pics of the thorned ones yet)
