Curious.. does the calculator do chicken math? Ill hafta check that out lol I also will be getting little else done today I didnt get any sleep last night so the feeding/cleaning I did this morning will prolly be close to all that gets done anyway.... another day spent hangin on byc reading.... until I cant see straight anymore

If you know some or all of the genetic base for your chickens you can put in a male and a female and see what their babies will look like. It is pretty complicated genetic stuff, you might want to get some rest before you take a look!

It's incredibly complicated. I'm stumped when figuring out silkie coloring because of the different feathering. It's still fun tho thanks for sharing

Awesome! Unfortunatly sleep isnt in my near future my older girls went to hang with their dad and my hubby is sleeping til he goes back for another 12-15hr shift so its me and my two youngest girls... 5&6 ... even resting my eyes for a few prolly isnt a good idea. Gotta hang in there till bedtime I guess... plenty to read.here tho

4 girls! Wow! That sounds like fun. I have 4 boys + 1 girl but she allows NOONE to call her a girl and shaved her head so I mostly say I have 5 boys if she's around. And I have mastered power naps. When I lay with the youngest ones for nap I fall asleep for 10 minutes at most. I wake up so refreshed. It's not for everyone but it works for me. And I know my older boys will make good choices so that helps I don't do it everyday but it's a lifesaver when I'm exhausted.

They wont mess with the stove or anything like that but I guess im afraid they will make a big mess or venture outside and ill wake up to loose chickens or somthing crazy I have set rules for situations such as this like no going outside or answering the door if I dont hear it first but after all the experience I know better than to "trust" daisy lol

Sorry i've be away sooooooooo long but been really busy at the farm. Goat pens, chicken coops, turkey coops, rabbit hutches, fencing, etc, and yes...my cabin has been a priority. Anyway, got my dominique chickens and they are great. Funny girls and boys and growing nicely.Built a 8x16 coop for them complete with dutch doors and casement windows. Also built a log cabin for the goats out of landscape timbers..."Camp Cabrito". Hope to get some pics posted for the forum soon of all the goings on.

Anyway, thanks much for the genetics links. interesting stuff.

Oh I know how that goes. Arlo (now 8) was an absolute handful, but thankfully he was super loud so I always knew what he was doing Soooo loud! We call my daughter little Arlo. Shes a screamer and loves to start fights. Her mornings not complete until she bugs every one of her brothers. But yea having an older one is great. I didn't spread mine out enough! I hope your hubby takes over when he gets home and you can rest. It's so hard to be so tired and take care of little ones.

well my hubby just got up actually he worked till 4 this mornin and has to be back at work at three.... but I think ill be alright till bed time... ill just hang with the chickens and let the girls help. There is always plenty to do between the chickens and the garden... 8 isnt that far off I am sleepy but I just drank a huge red bull lol I can do it just gotta keep busy im done complaining now tho, its good to know everyone with kids pretty much goes thru it. ill just sleep extra good tonight thats all gonn go take some pics here in a lil bit ill post for all to see
