***OKIES in the BYC III ***

We made an 8x14 Bunny & Bird Room for my 3 French Lop rabbits and the Seramas. Still didn't have enough room in this section so had to put a few tiny caged birds plus my Ringneck Dove on the other side of the wall (she has a huge cage though).
Master Channing and his Henlet still live at the top of the steps in the loft/bedroom though :)
So this is a Serama Wall. 8 Seramas and 2 Parkeets. It actually works really well because I can rotate who gets to run around on the floor so everyone gets part of the day loose in the room. And the floor is wood tiles & easy to clean. They all have either grates with trays underneath or shavings in their cages, takes only 10 min tops to clean this set of cages every day. I put a TV in here and my glider rocker. Home Sweet Home. Complete with critters.
Yea, I know. I kissed my sanity goodbye a long time ago.

This reminds me years ago I say an article about a couple who converted one of their unused bedrooms into an apiary. It has a glass window w/ a bar on the other side for cool viewing, they changed out the floor to cement w/ a central drain so it could be hosed easily. I looked for it, but couldn't find it now.

That is very cool. Think you meant AVIARY- an Apiary is a beehive yard. :) maybe that's why you couldn't find it.

I come by it honest. My brother has a super nice house (I do not) and he devoted an entire room to his 3 ferrets years ago. My mother also renovated a portable building into a Cathouse with an outside run 2 yrs ago. For a mama cat and her 3 newborn kittens she found in her shed lol

Ksane, Do you have any canaries in your room? They would sure add pretty songs! I have two in my office and enjoy their antics.

I do! I have a pair of them. We keep them in the loft/bedroom (which is a 12x25 area) because I love hearing them so much :D They're red factor Canaries but I don't feed them the egg food so they're just orange-yellow now. They're names are Sherbet & Sherry.

Ooh I'm so excited... got plans in the works for another breed this spring that I thought was going to be years before I could get for a good price.... not ready to spill the beans yet but very excited!

Started the day with a 7am call from the renters that the plumbing was backed up in both bathrooms. We tried a snake in the line to the septic and got roots so had to call in a plumber.
Then we noticed a cow was having difficulty calving. The calf was back feet first. We had to walk her from the back pasture to the barn where we could load her to take to the vet. Had to pull the calf which was stillborn.
Then the plumber arrived.
We had planned to have lunch with our MIL but had to change that to dinner.
Got a phone call from the surgeon's office that my EKG was abnormal so surgery would be postponed until my cardiologist would give me clearance. He was going to be out of the office the rest of the month. Was able to get an appointment for next Tuesday with another cardiologist in the same office. I've asked for a copy of the EKG....three areas of concern.
So surgery is postponed.
We had a lovely dinner.
