***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I'm so bummed my black bantam Cochin frizzle hen that I stayed at the auction until 3 am to buy last summer was dead in the coop this morning. Hubby thinks a skunk got in there. Tonight i sent my son out to shut the free rangers in the coop while I was cooking and he came back and said they weren't out there. I'm missing 10 chickens.

Oh my goodness thats horrible, where could they have went? My neighbor behind me has a large patch of trees brush and bushes at my fence line and my chickens love free ranging back there but it has become quite the problem lately becausse they hop the fence and its a mess trying to get them back home :( im missing one now because the kids and I just couldnt catch her (she is rebelling I guess) I went out again awhile aho to see if I could spot where she decided to roost but there isnt any sign of her... I hope shes back in the morning but she has been having a lot of trouble getting along with everyone out there because she is such a bully and starts fights im not sure what im going to do with her but I dont want anything bad to happen either.... I hope your chickens come home and soon! Just when ya think you got the little buggers half coop trained they go and do stuff like this :( hang in there and good luck!

Luckily they were just hiding in a tree. We found them this morning

i don't think hatcheries sell seramas, may be an old english game, pics would help

@Loriemarler
i am so sorry! it is possible something scared them and they are hiding- have had that happen

I think you're right, it's an OEGB. I've always wanted one so perfect ;)

:woot I was hoping to read that this morning.

Maybe you're right, its doesn't seem especially tiny. Im going to look up breeds tonight. Anyone know what hatchery Atwoods uses? Im hoping its not a serama. They're super cute, but I dont think Im up for the challenge.

I have a friend that shows them she told me once that hatcheries don't have seramas and the Atwoods go to said the use ideal

@HeyBigRhondaq
 I think I found you on CL. Do you still have the bantam orpington? Im super interested!

Yes, that's me! I'm just not that in to bantams. If you'd like her, you can have her for $15. She was free to me (Easter adoption), but I've fed her for 25 weeks. I'd love to know she went to a good home!
