***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Okay, I am finally home. Ally's team had a very successful weekend (3 wins and a loss), so we're happy, but very tired. Upon arrival home...

Two silkies (white and splash or blue, I think) died. DH said they looked "weird" and then were gone the next day. Another one looks crooked, kinda drunk. What can that be (other than the possibility it found its way to the liquor cabinet? I gave them all some vitamins.

@ashtree, the grey still looks very healthy. @kelielliott I don't know if I lost the blue or a splash. You all might give me an extra day to sort things out. Call me anytime.

Also, Ash, I think 2 of the 3 olive Eggers I kept are boys...bigger legs. Just a guess, but my luck may be changing (darn it). I do hope that means you have a lot of girls!

@HeyBigRhondaq how are the babies today? Any chance it could be Cocci?

So here is my confession- I am full blown chicken addict for sure. Here is Cooptopia. Don't show my friends and family on facebook or they may force me into a Chickens Anonymous group!

Big gray building on the left is for the goats/dogs, red building is going to be a brooder house for midsize chicks, the others are coops. This does not include a 3 hole quarantine pen and the shed where my 6 brooders are and a box of chicks in the house. I'm at 14 pens now!!! Actually only 10 coops because 4 of them are "split coops." Big gray one in the center houses my Cream Legbars, and when it gets really cold again in Jan I'm going to put all the hens in that coop and all the roosters in another. Maybe. If I can ever bring myself to turn off the incubator. Oh heck incubators. I'm hopeless.

Did I mention I had chicks hatch this weekend and I have no place to put them so they are still in the incubator? LOL. Got to do some shuffling and move older groups around today so I can put them in the brooder shed.

But they're so fun!

@lonnyandrinda very impressive!

I doubt it's cocci, just because the chicks are in my kitchen, still on paper towels (idk why I used that this time). It looked like dh took good care of them. Of course, no one replaces a chicken momma. This morning, I mixed up a little probiotic powder with some water and chick feed and watched it. It can/will eat, but not much. I do think it looks better this morning. To be honest, I was exhausted (still am). Dragging around a big ol' brace while running (ha) to soccer fields and through airports isn't any fun. Today, I will be able to pay more attention and research.

I knew how busy I'd be last week and this week (then added the knee injury) but set eggs anyway. Lesson learned. I am tired of learning lessons.

Did any of y'all at the Coweta auction get a good look at the blue Sumatrans? My uncle bid on them and I have them here at the house in isolation. They have like white crusty stuff on their necks??? They are eating and drinking good but I am.not sure what it is or how to help them. I will post a pic shortly...
