***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Well after a 3 month dry spell I got an egg today. It is most likely from my mixed girl Priscilla that I got from Artsyrobin. So nice to have an egg in the nestbox. Too bad it is just one a day lol
glad to hear, wondered how she was doing, i am totally in love with that birchin cochin girl, she is tiny- and talks for hours before laying her egg- she is best friends with the Jersey Giant Girls, a funny thing to see!

I can't remember the website, but there is one out there that tells you what predator attacked by the description of the remains. Weasels leave a sweet-skunk smell and puncture wounds. They don't eat the head. Trust me. The Great Weasel Attack of 2014...wiped out all but a few of my chickens last spring. It got through a VERY small hole it dug right next to my coop door (avatar). It killed them and left. Didn't eat even a bite of a single one. They kill for the fun of it...very weasel-y.

Trying to find that website...came across several that said they DO eat the head. Our attacker just bit them and moved on. Of course, maybe I missed it...was devastating. If I can find the one that says weasels have a skunky smell, I'll post it.

I've read that weasels will kill all birds with the intention of stock piling meals. Did yours try to get any out of the coop? I was thinking about your weasel attack when people were talking about predators. It scares the crap out of me. Also looks like I have an even number pullet/cockerel Olive Egger. :) I call that great odds for me! They're beautiful too. Hope your OEs and silkies are doing well. And of course your knee!!!

Seller mentioned he was leaving a bunch of farm stuff when we moved out here, just realized this was part of the loot!

The beginnings of my new kitchen curtain, I've been sick all day so it has taken all day to get this far.

Hope you get to feeling better SOON!

Love your son's ear to ear grin!

Thought I'd post a picture of my project...creating an Olaf costume for a 6 foot tall man....
The head is almost finished...needs the eyebrows hot glued and a strap to button the back of the head to the waistband to keep it from falling forward. The hat inside has a chin strap to keep it on his head. It is surprisingly light...made of some chickenwire and wire sewn onto the brim of a straw hat. you can see thru the gauzy sheer fabric of the mouth. The brim of the hat is part of the upper lip....

Ill put a gather line on the cape at the back of the head to let it cup in for a "neck"
I have hoola hoops for the bottom snowball and am making the arms out of brown and black material to make it look like bark...and brown gloves. will probably make the chest snowball like a stuffed shirt.....
