My very first broody sat on 6 eggs. Three were yolkers and she hatched one on thurs. The other 2 kept getting pushed out by the baby so I stuck them in the incubator. They hatched today! One is a naked neck!!!!! I had no idea! I actually thought they were the banty Cochins eggs. I will posts pics when I get back home!!! I never thought I would like the naked necks! Now to decide if I should grow them out or sell them!

My big fat self steps all over those little tunnels, in hopes of collapsing one, right on top of that little bugger. That, and I have two nice sturdy, albeit fairly sharply pointed fiberglass chicken herding sticks, and I use them to stab into the tunnels too. When I can afford it, I found a seemingly good product, for eradication. I just can't afford it, right now. It's a sonic solar spike rodent repellent. Burgess sells it.
After finding huge washed-out caverns and finding myself ankle-deep in tunnels after all this rain, we are ready to try the solar spikes. I have heard they are less effective in sandy soil. Sharkman, have you had any experience with these? Anyone else? Thanks

No, I haven't been able to afford it, yet. I really want to try it

I haven't tried it, but home depot and amazon have it for 19.99 which is $8.00 cheaper than Burgess

Great info. As funds get better, I will have to look into these, there.

The sheet metal is gone. Thanks to all of you that were interested. We lost our modem in the storm but thankfully ATT sent a tech out today, wow on a Sunday, and replaced it. Thanks again and sorry I didn't get back to everyone.

I was supposed to go into hatching mode, Tuesday. But, considering that I have two hatched, and several more that might hatch. Would it be safe to switch to hatch mode, two days early? Or should I split the difference, and wait until Monday?

Yes it won't hurt to head into lockdown a day or two early. Better than keep turning if they need to position for hatch. Good luck! Your homemade bator seems to be doing it's job!

I don't suppose anyone in the Tulsa area has an old wine cooler/ mini fridge with a glass door they would like to get rid of cheap

. I'm looking for 1 big enough to build an incubator out of.

I'm doing chores for a friend while she's out of town and she told me yesterday that she's overrun with guinea eggs and doesn't know what to do with them all. She would usually hatch them but she's going to be gone for about a month. Anyone interested? There's about 5 clutches like this and she doesn't know the ages of the eggs
