Sounds like our kitchen too. I saved the shells and ran them thru the food processor. Then froze them in quart bags for a cold snack during the heat of the day for the chickens.I love sugar snaps! I can eat them like candy raw and they are so good in stir fry. It is terribly humid today. You mentioning canning reminds me of how hot a Michigan kitchen can get in the Summer when produce is ready to put up. Some of us up there still don't have central AC. Sweet corn grows great in Michigan and Mom would always try to blanch and freeze enough for a box of corn a week; usually eaten with Sunday dinner. We kids got drafted to shuck the husks.
