***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Our little Minnie passed last night. We were expecting it because she was losing strength. That is the sad side of Farm Life.
Mary was sitting on Minnie when we checked on her early this morning.
When Momma cow would come in to look for her calf, Mary would cluck at her. Mom seemed to know the calf was gone too.
Mary stayed in the stall all morning after we moved the calf out.
A bit ago, I moved Mary from the stall to the brooder room with the water cooler into a nest with clean straw from the stall. She clucked to me the whole way from the stall to the nestbox.

so sorry

Going to have about 15 grown Wyandotte roosters for the freezer and some young mix breed cockerels as well.

There are two nice Cochin cockerels about 8 months old. Could be nice breeders.

Will have some young pullets...about 3 to 6 months ...as layer replacers.
These girls are Cochin x Wyandotte. They make nice broody hens.

I will soon be sorting the Columbian Wyandotte two month old chicks to set aside keepers for the breed pens. The rest will be available as layer replacers and fryers.

May also have some 3 to 6 week old unsexed chicks ...looking over the babies.

PM me if interested for pricing.

@ashtree I hope you and Arlo made it home safely. Oh and that bunny has been eating fermented grains, greens of all kinds (grass, yard weeds, garden etc...) and some Shawnee brand rabbit pellets.

I would go light on the kale and braccas we don't have kale growing here yet so he isn't used to that.

OK. Thank you for the heads up. He's so chill it's surprising. The kids really love him!

And of course the chickens are very loved :) they are beautiful! I'm so glad to have chickens again.....now to finish their coop!

Sorry Nana. Its amazing how animals know.

I need a snake identified. I think this is a bull snake, but it won't leave the corner of the barn, so I can't get a better look at it. I haven't got my super hero bravery going for me today, so I'm going to let it stay in the corner as long as it wants.

Looks like a bull snake to me. But I'm no expert.

I agree with Rinda and Kass just looking at the pattern on its back.
If it is a rat snake, the pattern would be similar but the belly would be a pale yellow with gray rectangles in a rough checkerboard pattern.
Either way It is non-poisonous. But they do like baby chicks.

My little sister had a bull snake for a pet when she was 10. First time I ever saw my mother dance a jig was when Peggy put the snake (Bourbillia) in the kitchen window and forgot to take it back to its aquarium when she finished doing the dishes.
