Maryjo, you and Joe have certainly been thru so much! Prayers for you both. Congrats on the Silkies.I spent my Spring break in Michigan with my Mom. My Dad died January 11th and Mom broke her leg on New Year's Eve. Dad was 94 and Mom is 87. It has bee a rough 6 months for Joe and I. Besides losing my Dad, Joe's uncle died in September, and his father in November. I lost an Uncle in December also. And a young Navy family friend died in February after a 8 month fight with Lymphatic cancer. She was only 36, married 5 years and had a 3 year old son. We knew her since she was a young, 19 year old student at San Diego State University. Right after Undergraduate she got her Doctorate in Biochemistry and Microbiology and was a Geneticist at Duke working on Blood cancers. So tragic. Also, last week, Joe's Aunt died after lingering in a month long coma from a stroke. We are taking one day at a time and especially appreciate the signs of Spring this year. On a fun note, while I was in Michigan I looked for some Chickens! I found some great Silkies! There are quite a few breeders and I got a couple of very nice Blue cockerels, with exceptional foot feathers, only 40 min. from my parent's farm. I also got some Buff and Blue Cream chicks only 20 min. from the farm. My dog went with me and thought nothing about traveling with chickens in the Outback. I kept the chicks warm by putting their plastic tote/brooder on the heated seat on the passenger side and on a heating pad in the hotel room. (The roosters stayed in the car.)
Hahahaha!Love this photo. "Where did you find the coat and hat?"
