Finally got the wire tops on the new pens...too windy the past two days to attempt the shade cloth.

Will put the Columbian Wyandotte breeders birds in their pens after the Saturday rain. While I beefed up the soil level with fresh dirt, 1.7 inch predicted rain might test the runoff boundary.

I'm looking forward to getting their sequestered eggs to begin hatching. I've been pulling a few eggs from under the girls and am getting a few CW, but also Black, Blue and Barred Wyandotte.
I have been blessed to get Columbian Wyandotte hatching eggs from long time breeder Rob Newburn in Idaho. Got the second batch yesterday. Rob has worked with this Heritage breed for 35 years. His chicks will greatly improve the genetics of my flock. The first batch has 19 of 22 eggs developing. Will set the 2nd batch of 28 today.
How is everyone's garden coming along?
I have cabbage, beets, lettuce, peas, onions, turnips, radish, broccoli, cauliflower, Swiss chard, mustard greens, collards, kale, carrots and garlic up.
In the seed pots the tomatoes, peppers, cucumber and squash are sprouted along with flower seeds.
The tomatoes and peppers in individual pots are over 12 inches tall and begging to be set out. Will harden them off and plant this week.
Fruit trees are loaded with tiny fruit that we are hoping don't get frost nipped like last year. Blackberries and blue berries are ready to burst into bloom. The Concord grapes are sprouted.
Mother Nature needs to nurture not mess with my garden!
