im trying to learn how to caponize , have some people talking me thru it , but as to hands on do it i havent yet , so by next year ill have it down or should at least

I always caponize roosters after I kill them and before cleaning them but i'm not sure the hole I have to make would be survivable for a live bird especially since they aren't sedated.

the hole you do when caponizing is acutally small and its said that they really have no discomfort , id say otherwise as to what is being done lol , but the tools used is what makes the difference from what im told

Thats not true of the hole I make. I can't seem to fish things out like a pro yet I need a good coach I've only read old books and my dad told me how to do it. He was good at stuff like that. he said he could do it alone with a piece of wire. I have snook hooks that are used for spaying dogs and cats but never can get hold of the goods without making a mess of stuff.
