***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I was going to go 277 through Chickasha but I missed where it turned East so I just stuck on 8 since I knew where it came out. I've hauled a lot of rock out of that plant at Cyril many moons ago. There and Richard's Spur were both hot-spots during the boom in the 70s and 80s. Traveling those roads really brought back memories of too little sleep and huge paychecks.

Lynne thanks for the brooder, Teva is already telling me how she wants it rebuilt and as always her ideas are very good. Thanks to you and Dakota for getting it loaded for us.

Gotgame what can I say about those birds. I was excited when you posted a pic of him but it truely did not do him justice. A beautiful pair and she has already given us an egg, now if she will just keep it up.

Carla the eggs will go in the bator this evening. I like to set eggs late so that I will be home when they hatch so that I can watch them, I never get tired of that and I have been hatching birds for a lot of years.

For years I have always been told that a black rooster with gold or silver in his plumage carries the blue gene. Well we have a cute little Asil that we got out of Atwoods banny pen last year that has both gold and silver in his plumage. Gold in the hackles and saddles and silver on either side of his comb. He is over a white bantam Leghorn hen and their first chick hatched tonight and it is a splash with no sign of a comb whatsoever. The chick is mostly white with a few black feathers scattered through it. Now if I can just start two lines so I have good selection on breeding stock...

And I can't forget everyone that put this wonderful gathering together. The sale barn was a good choice since everything was under cover just in case the weather turned a bit damp. Plenty of room to set up birds without getting them overcrowded so you missed seeing birds for sale. And I really enjoyed myself and Teva did too, lots of new faces, our group has really grown.

Amy, I will get a link in my signature line for the pictures, hopefully tomorrow evening. We have three years of pictures there. I'm too tired tonight & will be traveling home tomorrow by way of Claremore for a soccer game, then stopping off to fix Grandma's meds up.

I had a great time at POOPS, as always Al, Monty, City, Peaches, Rebecca & all the others that put it together did a great job!! I hope everyone had fun. It was really nice to re-connect with everyone & meet all the new faces!!

Wow! What a day! Too Sad That Its Over. I just got done at home unloading all the birds I managed to haul home.

Thanks Barnswallow for helping me get them home.

I met a lot of new folks today. Had a great time visiting with each of you.

I was glad we decided on Fletcher.

Lot of hard work took place to get it in shape for everything.

Thanks to all who helped with the set up and clean up and organization. I will go up tomorrow to finalize all the clean up.

Great Food! Great Folks! Great Time.

Peaches

Hey I made it home. I am POOPED (pun intended) but I wanted to read the posts before I crashed.
Donnie I stumbled across the cage when we were loading the processing stuff.
After I made sure it wasn't Al's we knew it was yours.
Not thinking clear enough to post a decent message about today but I will get on it tomorrow.
