***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Wonderful time at POOPS again! Was busy selling birds then very tired, so didn't get as much time as I'd like to visit--but did get to see lots of friends from past POOPS and meet lots of new people, with good visits with several.

Can't thank Al and his wonderful crew enough for the extra hard work that went into this year's POOPS. Everyone is sooo friendly, helpful, and well-behaved (even the adults)! I always enjoy the kids--we have a great bunch of youngsters and it is so nice to get to see them grow up.

Vashi enjoyed it as well--as we knew he would. We stayed in Cyril Saturday night, too, as we knew a 3 1/2 hour drive was more than we wanted to tackle. I stuck to my resolve and came home with only one chicken--a young Silkie roo who came with us--Tara was very sweet to NPIP test him for me. I'd traded with a friend a week or so ago and he's been insolation since then. I'm sure HE was happy to get out into a pen with a sweet companion to boot! He's been through a LOT in the last week or so.

I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but the hand-tooled nn notebook was much nicer in person than it's picture here. I believe it sold for $90.

Will someone try this link and see if you can get to the photos? I think I have everything in one place now.

Should be 247 pictures. (I know,,,I go crazy with a camera but it you don't have pictues how will anyone know it really happened https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/30285_farm_8.gif )

Totally agree, you can't ever have to many pics!!!!! I seldom get out of a photo day w/ less then 400, and depending on what I am shooting usually quite a bit more. (they get whittled down in naming and filing) That is the best ever thing about digital, cost just as much to take one as 100, so might as well get your monies worth.

I chatted with Bil online this morning and of course had to give him the lowdown on POOPS. Then he asked me the dreaded question of what did I sell and what did I bring home. He was pleased that I found a home for my two Australorp pullets and EE-Buckeye mixes. He grumbled about me selling some of "his" Buckeye chicks (but now I can focus on growing out the two dozen or so I have left, which is much better for my sanity in the long run). I was able to explain away my purchase of a fabulous box of assorted Marans, Ameracaunas and Welsummers by reminding him that we don't have any dark egg layers. He was a little more skeptical about the Russian Orloff and Silver Laced Polish eggs I bought (he asked if they laid purple eggs). I think he is having visions of coming home to find crazy-looking chickens overrunning his farm.

I forgot to get my Orange flavored spun honey from you before I left. Can I get it some other time?

Certainly! I put all the spun honey back into the refrigerator and we will figure out which auction we are both attending sometime this month.

Despite some stiff competition, I was the pleased winning bidder for the leather folder donated by Old*cowboy, with the NN on the front. His leatherwork is excellent and I was delighted to obtain it.

My first ever attempt at dehydrating the cherries off the tree was an amazing success. Next up will be the raspberries when they ripen.
