You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma

I have never had geese so it is exciting to have someone tell us about their experience with geese. Your story is a testament to the wonders of nature.

Do you have any other poultry or would you like to acquire other poultry? Disclaimer: some of us are addicted to hatching poultry, attending poultry auctions and otherwise acquiring poultry. Since addicts tend to be enablers, we may try to assist you in the acquisition of more poultry than you have room to house with your current facilities.

So, do you have any poultry other than your geese? (I am guessing that you do, since you have an incubator and know how to use it

Thanks so much for the charms! You are so talented. I cant decide what to make with them yet. Cant wait to see what you come up with next time. I hope to be a little more prepared and get some of the cards made I was telling you about. So hard for me to stay inside but as it gets hotter here I will get back to crafting. Great seeing you again. Take care, DeAnn

My pleasure DeAnn! I really should have had a whole lot more bracelets and charms ready for sale than what I had. But like you, if the weather is decent I will be outside or in the barn (my favorite place on earth!) but bad weather never seems to be a deterrent for me--I was in the barn when we had -10 below wind chill! But in the barn it was 'nice' compared to being outside...the horses and the fainting goat and my banties keept the barn comfortable! So me being inside is more of a rarity these days...and that means little to no crafting time. Maybe the heat will drive me indoors...oh wait...it didn't last year...LOL! I like to make cards too, and I have a Quikutz Revolution. I like the idea of never having to worry about technology failing as it is a manual die cutter...and will last forever! I'm not too sure what I will come up with for the next POOPS, but I now know I better start now to have things ready. I waited too long to get crafting for this year's POOPS and it showed

The birds I have from Carla are amazing layers and are just beautiful. But just remember when youre two becomes twenty, I tried to warn you!! LOL

We're still playing with our pigeons. Had another egg yesterday. The girls are hooked and Brad hasn't complained about them being house pigeons right now either. I put 90 eggs in the incubator and am getting things ready for them once they hatch.

Gather around kids and I will tell you the story of how Lil Jaxon came to know about POOPS.

100_6132.jpg

Once Upon a time there was a lil boy named Jaxon who loved all things poultry and every chance he got he would visit with his wise ol grandma... and one day when he was visiting that wise grandma of his he began to inquire about POOP.
100_6136.jpg

Grandma, What is Poops? Is that what we do when we go to the bathroom ? Young Jaxon would ask his wise grandma who was known as Poultry and Bees on the BYC.

Well Jaxon, in a way yes but this POOP is special POOP as it stands for People Of Oklahoma Poultry Swap... It is where you will find the bestest of friends who love chickens.

Everyone that comes to POOPS comes for the purpose of food and fellowship, it is the one weekend out of the year that we can gather together and have great cheer.. She tells Jaxon while showing him how they do the chicken wave

(Chloe's reaction, hey no body ever said that some kids will get the legist of POOPS)

THE END

Thanks for all the welcomes! I was babysitting my daughters 11 chicken with my 3. I had chicken eggs running out my ears so my son-in-law loaned me his bator. I had no idea what I was doing or how it worked but set 8 of my Brown Chinese geese eggs (I had 1 pair) and finished filling it up with chicken eggs. I only hatched 3 geese and 11 chickens but now I'm hooked! My husband tells me I am enjoying it WAY too much! I'm afraid I went to a poultry auction and bought some baby geese and more on a trip to Atwoods. I now have 3 ducks and 17 baby geese plus the remaining gander. I was also taking care of my daughter's tom turkey. I would gobble at him and of course he would answer back causing me to laugh.

So when she took them all home my husband thought I need some myself! I now have 4 baby turkeys that I call my "special children" They are VERY loving but are very much on the slow side! I fell in LOVE with the Sebastopols geese and my husband was surprising agreeable to let me order 4 adult ones from Holderread Waterfoul show lines! I got the last of his colored Sebastopol breeders. He was ok getting them since they are very quiet. Not like the Brown Chinese! I raised dogs for years and now just have a few so I am enjoying other interest. Between raising bottle baby calves and the new geese my husband has a LONG list on new pens that need to be created to keep everybody safe!
