Ah i dont blame ya joe, gotta do what you gotta do. Im just a snake man, but ive been known to transport possums for miles and let them outa live traps by creeks. Course it was a rare case of an albino possum, well more like piebald, it was fairly small and actualy cute when it was hissing at me. Wife wouldnt let me keep it

Thanks LOL I went after work today and picked up an Embden Gander for my two Females I went ahead and put him in with them and they are getting along very well, I still don't know if they will lay this late in the year but I'm going to provide a couple places to lay eggs just in case they decide laying is a good idea LOL

We haven't had geese very long but ours lay like crazy if you take the eggs, they only stop if you let them nest they even layed through the winter. We have embdens and a couple of others mixed in for good measure.

Enjoyed the snake, coon, muskrat stories. We have been laughing over the images those stories invoke.

Anyone want to venture a guess on what type pigeon we have lurking around our barn...white with a few black feathers on neck and tail. Seems to have chosen my hens as friends. Anyone think it could be an escapee?

Thats good to know, I'm really hoping that they will lay and I'll let the set most likely if they do, I might try incubating some eggs later or next year maybe
Thanks again Doc

I have incubated them but I really prefer they do it themselves for a few reasons, they have better hatch rates than me and they bond to their own kind and not us and our shoes on the porch. They like to take our shoes and put them in the pond. Once your gaggle is big enough your predator problems will drop off considerably.

I'll see if I can sneak up on it tomorrow and get a pic...it still flys off if we get too close but doesn't go far. Loves the wild bird seed mix

Mine most like trapper peas and unpopped popcorn, they pick that out of my mix first and eat the oats last.

I'm thinking cage on ground with a string to pull the door shut...laced with peas and pop corn.....Yes I have too much time on my hands to night....
