Good morning!
I am working at the Noble Farmer's market this morning, selling honey and talking about bees on behalf of the Noble Beekeeper's group. If any of you are in the Noble area this morning, come by and chat.

The mama turkeys are hatching out poults and guinea keets this weekend. I am trying to watch and snatch the poults and keets after they hatch, since the turkey hens seem to be pecking them to death - probably in an attempt to keep the little ones corraled beneath them.

I like brandywine tomatoes. That is all I planted this year!
Two kinds I have heard about and wanted to get this year (but didn't) are Jeune Flame and Sojourner. They are both supposed to be really good in the Oklahoma heat.

I've also grown Brandywines and like them a lot. Was able to start a couple of plants from the "suckers" or whatever they're called that sprout from some of the places where leaves join the stem, and had a very few small tomatoes from one plant in my small greenhouse during the winter. Yum!

This is just too cool, The big BO Roo I got from Mike D has made himself at home real well, he is cuddled up with one of the broody hens with chicks helping to keep them warm, You can see the hens head sticking out from under his wing, (yeah I know, I need to clean the coop, it's on my list LOL)

Not the best pic here it was almost too dark to get a real good closeup with my camera but they both look contented and you can't see a baby anywhere under all those feathers, he is just huge LOL

The other younger Buff O Roo I got is also doing very well, they don't fight and seem to be willing to share hens, thats what I was hoping for, I sure do like the Buffs they are the sweetest birds, two of the hens and the big roo will stay right next to me the whole time I'm in the coop I have to be careful where I step at times LOL

I planted heirlooms for the very first time this year too! I always chose Big Boys and Beef Steak in the past. I'm sorry, I've lost the tag and cannot remember what the name of my plants are~ and I'm so upset! They are supposed to produce 6-8 inch fruits. They are looking really good so far, and I already have one tomato growing just under the size of a ping pong ball. I am so excited. I also plan on keeping the seeds to start seedlings next year. Thank for the suggestions on the Jeune Flame and Sojourner. I haven't heard of starting or planting suckers before... did they grow easily?

Yes, they grow very easily. Put a bit of rooting hormone on them and plant them. They take off quickly.
