It sure was nice visiting with Maribeth at the auction. She took pity on me and bought a quad of month old Welsummers that no one else wanted. She also gave me one of the special waterbowls she bought.
My five hens did well though. After buying a wheelbarow, two live traps, and Jared's two roosters. I ended up with two bucks profit and never had to dip into the reserve fund.
Maribeth was sticking around to see if she needed to float me a loan. Thanks

Thankfully I came out ahead.
Although it was hot, there was a good crowd.
Maribeth was recruiting people to our thread. (Meeker lady)
Hopefully she will check us out.
Sleepy is winning so I am heading to bed.

Well, howdy, everybody. I'm in Oklahoma City. I have some Dominiques and some Muscovy ducks, but we're in the middle of a lot of chicken drama right now. I had guineas, but they beat up my chickens bad. I may try again next year. I also keep bees. We have five acres in OKC and I'm trying to learn how to raise our own food. Good to "meet" everyone. Hope to get to know you guys.

You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma.

Sorry to hear that your Guineas beat up the chickens. I love my guineas, but they definately "rule" and have been know to march a turkey or a rooster around by the tail feathers at my house.

I've lost so many birds this year to predators that I'm thinking of doing chicken tractors for them. If I do that, I might get guineas again and have them in the chicken house. We sure need 'em for the ticks. I miss those annoying, ugly little suckers.
