Not getting alot done, Lil'Sooner has soccer this weekend!

Caught my 5th copperhead in the minnow traps this morning seems like they just keep coming around every two to three days maybe they will thin out a bit LOL

Had some fun watching my trio of ganders play inthe fresh water after I cleaned out their pool, I have to pump it out every other day or it's sooo foul, It was pretty warm and I considered climbing in with them but i'm betting they wouldn't have liked that much LOL

Good Morning Okies

with all the dry heat, I am actually watering my lawns... something I normally let rain do... but because i dont know when the next storm my show up with those fluffy heavy clouds, watering the lawns seem to be my best bet at keeping any fire at bay.... all the birds especially the ducks are loving the sprinklers .... We have a female mallard that literally stands in front of the water ... chest out and not a care in the world...

Love those Gander pictures.

Greybear sent you a PM on Sand plum juice....I'll have my cell phone on me today. Hope your tooth is better.

Lost my new splash cochin roo I recently bought and one of hislittle blue pullets is really lethargic. The bigger of the pullets is doing fine. Noticed some bloody poo on the roos leg. I'm using kiln dried pine shaving bedding in the cages. Will baby chicks eat that...and can it make them sick? Brought the one that's ill inside, gave it a drop of penicillin in the leg and mixed up a mash of med chick feed, honey, yogurt and water. It did eat a little and drank some water. Have a mirror in with her and she did preen her feet feathers but isn't near as active as she should be. poos so far have been a tiny reddish gooey one and then a bigger brown and white one. Poo experts, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Going to keep an eye on the chick and try to put out more soaker hoses in the garden beds beds and plant okra in the onion bed I cleaned out yesterday and get thos potatoes in the ground.

Good morning!
The Cement auction was well attended last night and the huge water cooler fans were very much appreciated. AL asked me why I was sitting on the next to last row, but when the auction began and we could feel the cool air on our back - he agreed that since we could hear the auctioneer above the fan - it was one of the best seats in the house. Thanks to Jcatblum and family for figuring that out before I got there and then sharing their row with us. As usual, AL and Gerald/Egg-Man had a great time, while Carla and I rolled our eyes at their conversation.

I am no longer in need of a large incubator, having come home with the 60 year old redwood Leahy incubator that was at the auction. It is exceptionally well insulated so should do well in the insulated barn where I will keep it, altough with some refinishing it would be attractive enough to be a piece of furniture in the house. Chiclooker/K.C. and his dad were looking pretty hard at the incubator, so I was very surprised to be the only bidder and then just had to meet the minimum bid.

The two homemade brooders I bought didn't fit into the magic poultry van with the large incubator, so OkCarla and Gerald were kind enough to load them into the back of their truck for me. My BYC friends both help and enable me.
