LOL aren't you funny tonight! My dad use to drink coffee on the hottest of days, said it kept him cool. We would be at a ball tournament & I would be bring him coffee & me an ice water.
Good to see ya Six.
Early this morning just at sun-up I was poking around on the computer. The house was quiet except when the air conditioner came on occasionally and the TV on with the volume nearly inaudible. I heard a noise coming from the back yard that I couldn't identify. I turned to look through the window but didn't see anything unusual. Back to computer surfing. A few minutes later I hear the same noise again, but a little louder. It sounded like a woman screaming in the distance. This time I got up and opened the sliding glass door to the outside and poke my head out, look around, but still didn't see anything unusual. Back to the computer again. A few minutes later, there was that sound again! There must be a neighbor in trouble, or maybe someone is getting into the backyard. This time I go out into the yard, quietly walking around and looking for anything out of the ordinary. My senses were on high alert, but there was no sound except for an occasional bird singing in the trees. I was standing in the far back of the yard near one of the chicken coops, in the silence, while a few of the chickens came up to see what I was doing, when all of a sudden I hear a LOUD ..........................

ARRR arrr ARRR ARRR Arrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
I nearly jumped out of my skin when that sneaky little 2 month old barred rock cockerel let loose his crow so close to my ear! He nearly gave me a heart attack! Geesh!!
I've never had a rooster before, and I'm not supposed to have them at all, but he hasn't found a new home yet. Little Monster is what I call him now.
Hey Okies, havent posted in awhile. This heat and no rain are getting the best of me. Trying to take the best care of birds and rabbits and so far so good. Hope everyone is doing well.
Just curious...how's the bird turnout at the auctions lately? I know this heat sometimes keeps folks from bringing their birds to afternoon sales.
I haven't been to any since hosting our own swap back on the 4th. This time of year I'm usually fishing or hog hunting every day so I haven't made any of the auctions in my area.

Blanchard didn't seem to have as many birds as normal, last Saturday. Prices were much lower than usual. With this heat, I don't think folks want to load up on birds right now. Rabbits are bringing pitifully low prices - unless it is one that my grandson wants

Good morning all!! It just rained here for about thirty minutes, I looked at the weather page and looks like it is about over with here. we need the rain and it may cool things off some (I hope) The little rooster story had me going!!! LOL I love listening to the little ones try to crow. They try so hard and it just don't come out right. But hey, practice makes perfect and it don't take them long!!! We had some new kittens come out yesterday! One was a little bobtail that is white with yellow ears!!! He (she???) is so cute, and they are too funny to watch, it was chasing its sibling around grabbing its tail!!!! LOL Have a blessed day all!!! Lynn
